ABOUT THE BUSINESS Evy’s Tree is a lifestyle brand with humble beginnings, focused on creating luxury hoodies and outerwear for women. What is a luxury hoodie? All of their hoodies are made with high quality and luxurious fabric, making their motto, “everyday luxury, everyday life,” a true reality for their customers. The brand’s demographic is primarily made up of women aged 25-45, however amazing women of all ages from all over the World have Evy’s Tree hoodies in their wardrobes. The brand has grown into a wonderful community of women who desire comfort but don’t want to sacrifice personal style; who are simply looking for fashionable pieces to wear from home, to work, to school, and back home again.

They release roughly six new styles each month. Each style consists of 400-1500 pieces, all of which often sell out quickly during the first pre-order phase. Customers have to act fast when an item releases, because when an item sells out it is likely gone forever. When a style is released again, it is in a fresh new color, keeping their customers guessing.

Evy’s Tree isn’t finished growing. The brand is projected to sell upwards of $4 million dollars worth of luxury hoodies in 2016.

B AC KG RO U N D K N OW L E D G E In 2009 former fourth-grade public school teacher and new stay-at-home mom, Amy Miraflor embellished three old hoodies from her closet with some fabric bought at the local fabric store for a family trip. While on the trip, she was bombarded with compliments on her designs, and then decided to make more of the hoodies to give as Christmas gifts for her teenage nieces. She posted a picture of the nieces with their hoodies on her family blog, soon receiving emails asking her to make some to sell. In January 2010, she posted a Paypal link on her blog and sold 15 hoodies in 30 minutes. Shocked and scared that she would never be able to fulfill the orders, Amy took the link down from her blog and spent three whole days using her newly acquired sewing skills to sew up her orders. The Paypal account transitioned into an Etsy shop and eventually to the professionally designed website used today!

The business was named after Amy and Brandon’s daughter Evelyn, whom they call Evy (pronounced Eh-vee). On her first bedroom wall they painted a beautiful white tree with an owl sitting on the branches. While Amy was sewing her first “Hoot” hoodie, which had an owl face on the chest, their son Jacob walked up, saw the owl and asked, “Is that Evy’s Tree, Mama?” The name for the hoodies just stuck.

Now, six years later, Amy, along with her husband Brandon, mass produce all of their hoodies.

They have sold nearly 80,000 hoodies to women all over the world. Evy’s Tree employs over 25 mostly part-time employees, many of whom are moms who are looking for a flexible job that works around their kid’s schedules. Evy’s Tree also gives back to local and national charities, promotes community among women through their social media platforms (which currently exceed 100,000 people), and encourages their customers to follow their hearts, love and accept others, live confidently, and dare to do scary things in life.

B E ST S E L L I N G I T E M S Evy’s Tree most popular style is named the Sophie. It has been released in a rainbow of colors, ranging from neutral black to vibrant hues of pink. Customers post photos of themselves in their Sophies with the hashtag #SOPHIENATION. Aside from the Sophie in Holiday Black (pictured above with the Sophie in Chocolate) their best selling items include the Diana in Black Olive, Nicole in Fog, Brilla in Tomato, and Lisa in Golden (pictured below left to right). These popular styles are highly anticipated among Evy’s Tree fans, and sell out very quickly once released. Periodically, new colors of each style are re-released in the season’s trendiest hues.
