EVOLT PTY LTD
“Our mission is to offer value to our customers through continuous innovation and increased quality ”
Reflecting on our journey from humble beginnings to becoming a national leader in innovative lighting solutions, we are proud of our accomplishments. Founded in 2005, our mission has always been to deliver exceptional value through high-quality, innovative products. Initially focused on private-label products, we quickly expanded our range to include an extensive array of lighting solutions and bathroom heaters. We launched the Ektor brand in 2006 and achieved a significant milestone in 2015 with the introduction of our Generation III emergency lighting platforms; establishing our commitment to industry leadership in Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
Our strategic acquisition of Atom Lighting in 2014 further solidified our position in the lighting industry, enabling us to broaden our product offerings and reinforce our dedication to quality and innovation. Today, with operations across Australia and New Zealand, we ship over two hundred and eighty thousand pieces of domestic LED and emergency lighting per month, continually striving to innovate and provide products that add value to our customers. The future is bright for Evolt, and we look forward to continuing to light the way forward with innovative solutions.

At Evolt, we are deeply committed to minimising our environmental impact and championing sustainability. Our approach to manufacturing and product design reflects our dedication to preserving the environment for future generations.
The selection of components used in our Ektor products is crucial not only for their longevity but also to align with Evolt’s corporate social responsibility. Opting for higher-cost polycarbonate plastics ensures UV stability and fire retardance without the need for additional stabilisers. In the event of an emergency, polycarbonate plastics do not contribute to the thick black smoke associated with competing plastics, enhancing occupant safety during evacuation. Additionally, polycarbonate plastics offer superior recyclability, allowing the products to be reground and reused.
Evolt has consistently prioritised the reduction of harmful materials. Since its inception in 2006, Ektor products have featured the most eco-friendly batteries available. Launching with NI-MH batteries, despite their higher costs, Evolt consciously avoided NI-CD batteries, setting a new standard in the industry. In 2015, Ektor became the first brand in Australia to fully transition all its products and production to Lithium iron phosphate batteries. Furthermore, in 2008, Ektor was among the pioneers in moving from Silk printed labels and markings to eco-friendly laser printed labels, eliminating the need for harmful solvents and chemicals.
Evolt is dedicated to eliminating unnecessary waste from production processes. All waste cardboard is recycled, and reusable transport containers are utilised between subcontractors and production, ensuring efficient material use.
In a testament to our commitment, Evolt’s Sydney-based factory repurposes waste cardboard for packing commercial light fittings, giving pre-used cardboard a second life.
Minimising waste during production is paramount, prompting a thorough examination and continuous improvement of our entire system. This approach not only supports environmental sustainability but also reinforces Evolt’s commitment to innovative, eco-friendly practices.
Evolt was the pioneer in transitioning its entire emergency product range to LiFePO4 batteries, setting a new industry standard and driving widespread change. Previously, lithium batteries were limited to specialised emergency lighting, often at a premium cost. Evolt’s dedication to providing the most eco-friendly technology to all changed this landscape.
The introduction of lithium batteries significantly reduced the presence of heavy metals in the market. Moreover, the design of Ektor products ensured a longer service life, thereby making a substantial impact on reducing future e-waste.
With Evolt’s local manufacturing capability, we offer customers easy ways to adapt, reuse, and modify existing fittings, extending their life and significantly reducing their carbon and environmental footprint. Evolt’s passion for a circular economy positions it as a leader in the Australian market, exemplifying social consciousness and environmental responsibility.
Evolt designed and sold the first DALI emergency exit sign, setting a new standard in emergency lighting technology.
Evolt introduced retrofittable Blade exits for Stanilite’s quickfit brackets, enabling installers to upgrade existing products (which consumed 10W of power) to Ektor Blade exits – consuming less than 2W.
Evolt pioneered the single box solution, now an industry norm, allowing for a versatile, one-box emergency lighting solution.
Ektor released dual functionality emergency exits that combined a maintained emergency exit and non-maintained emergency in one-unit, maximising energy savings and emergency classifications while eliminating the need for additional non-maintained emergency fixtures.
Evolt removed all ABS blends from their product range due to ABS’s propensity to produce thick black smoke when exposed to fire, which hindered the safe exit of occupants. ABS is typically found in lower-performance emergency products or as an ABS/PC blend in most market products. Average
In 2008, Evolt produced the lowest power emergency exit, consuming less than 1.7W, and non-maintained emergency lighting at over 0.45W. By 2015, Ektor’s non-maintained products achieved power consumption under 0.25W (AGV power).
Evolt led the market by producing battens with non-maintained emergency lighting integrated into the endcap, a technology later widely adopted.
Ektor delivered Wi-Fi enabled emergency products, ideal for small applications, reducing total cost of ownership.
Ektor released an all-in-one DALI converter, combining the DALI driver, emergency lighting, and sensors into a single product. This innovation led to the lowest power usage and reduction in raw materials while providing high value.
Evolt launched the Ektor Lynk emergency range based on IPv6 and DALI, showcasing the latest in emergency lighting technology.
Evolt led the way with the Smart Luminaire, made in Australia, which integrates most troffer lights with emergency lighting and inbuilt sensors. This innovation reduces the total cost of ownership for users and streamlines building designs.
Ektor released the world’s first DALI-2 certified exit with the Mercury Pro 24M.

TRUST. ATOM.
Ektor products are designed by a local team of specialised engineers to meet and exceed industry standards for quality, energy efficiency, usability, and aesthetics. As a leader in the Australian emergency lighting industry, Ektor was the first to implement LED exits, introduce the DALI range, build wireless connectivity on AS62386-104, and deliver the first DALI-2 certified emergency exit. Our commitment to research and development ensures continuous innovation and reliability within the lighting industry.
In 2022, with the acquisition of Harcroft Lighting, Evolt expanded its Ektor brand from emergency lighting to also encompass commercial and industrial lighting, specialising in high-quality Australian-made products. This acquisition also enabled Ektor to address the smart lighting segment of the market, combining emergency lighting, sensors, and office lighting, representing the future of lighting solutions.
QUALITY MATTERS.
