You don’t have to get on a plane to travel this summer...

Come to CityDance School & Conservatory at Strathmore and travel to the far reaches of your imagination!

Created by Lorraine Spiegler, Artistic Director of the CityDance School and Conservatory, CityDance’s themed children and youth camps offer learning and fun through culture and creativity. At camp, young dancers learn multi-cultural myths and themes from around the globe and are invited to explore how the tales relate to their daily lives.

They take daily classes in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop and world dance forms. Dancers improvise, craft, color and learn to express themselves through the creation of their own dances.

Dance, ideas, cultural themes, music and poetry are woven together in a final performance for family and friends.

Tiger Story / Anansi Story

AGES 4-6 The Nightingale’s Song July 18-22, M-F, 9-12pm (One Week Only) | $200 (Early Bird: $160) Campers explore dance through the fabled Chinese fairytale of a caged bird longing to be free, focusing on Eastern dance styles.

AGES 7-9 Tiger Story/Anansi Story July 5-15, *M-F, 9-3pm | $670 (Early Bird: $610) *excludes Monday, the Fourth of July Students channel the legendary Anansi spider’s intrepid spirit through high energy dance with a focus on afro-fusion.

The Rainbow Serpent July 18-29, M-F, 9-3pm | $710 (Early Bird: $650) In this contemporary camp inspired by a spirited serpent, students explore their individuality and inner power with a focus on modern improvisation and composition.

AGES 10-14 The Dreaming Tree July 5-15, *M-F, 9-3:45pm | $710 (Early Bird: $655) *excludes Monday, the Fourth of July Inspired by Amazonian creatures, Brazilian rythms and sounds, young dancers come alive through contemporary ballet and modern movement.

Alice in Wonderland August 8-19, M-F, 9-3:45pm | $750 (Early Bird: $695) Dancers go on jazz-fueled adventure inspired by the magic and whimsy of this famous English fairytale.
