WELCOME TO THE LATEST SEASON AT THE GORDON CRAIG THEATRE!

This is our first season of entertainment since we became part of ‘Everyone Theatres’ on 1st April and we’re delighted to once again be able to bring you a season offering something for ‘Everyone’!

As we find ourselves heading towards the much needed summer months we welcome the best in comedy, music, drama and dance. There’s also many community performances including, over a two week period in June, Stevenage Festival which brings all sectors of the community together to entertainment.

From Dinosaurs Live to Dave Gorman, Stevenage’s own Babatunde to Ballet Cymru, The Signalman to the Stylistics you are sure to find something you like!

As ever, the backbone of the Theatre’s year is our pantomime, which this year is Sleeping Beauty. Extended, due to popular demand a record breaking number of tickets have already been sold. Lead by Aidan O’Neill, the cast also includes Glenn Adamson (straight from Bat out of Hell and Rock of Ages), Emma Odell as Carabosse and Bobby Delaney as the Nurse Nellie. It’s very much a case of you snooze you lose so book without delay!

So, pull up a chair, make yourself a cuppa and have a thumb through and we hope that we’ll see you at the Gordon Craig soon!

THE VERY BEST OF TOMMY COOPER

This hilarious one-man show written by Danny Taylor focuses on Tommy Cooper’s legendary comedy act, recapturing his trademark mayhem and misfiring magic. The hour-and-a-half show includes many of Cooper’s beloved one-liners, dazzling wordplay and celebrated tricks, including Glass/Bottle, Dappy Duck, Spot the Dog and Jar/Spoon.

Produced and performed by Daniel Taylor. The Production has the blessing of the Tommy Cooper Estate.

THE GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA

Ray McVay brings the Glenn Miller Orchestra back to Stevenage with the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders and the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Mark Porter. Also featuring The Uptown Hall Gang - an outstanding Dixieland group drawn from members of the orchestra.

The show will include all the most popular Glenn Miller hits ... In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug, Tuxedo Junction, Chattanooga Choo Choo . In the second half John James will join Mark and Ray Wordsworth to give their rendition of The Rat Pack.

Following the success of their last two Charity Galas, which have raised almost £20,000 to support MND Association and MND Research, Neil and Carl Rutherford produce a spectacular new Charity Gala Concert in aid of Motor Neurone Disease, which their father died of in 2015.

Dave Gorman is back on the road with a brand new live show, Powerpoint To The People The ‘high priest of the comedy Powerpoint talk’ (The Times) is touring again - as much as anything to demonstrate that a powerpoint presentation doesn’t have to involve a man in a grey suit standing behind a lectern and saying ‘next slide please’. We’ve all had enough of that, so let’s put it all behind us and never speak of it again - there are far more important things to analyse. Well... they’re more important in Dave’s head anyway.

5,6,7,8 - Our Show is based on the traditional ‘count in’ to a routine for dancers featuring music from the ‘50s, ‘60’s, 70’s and ‘80s. We will be showcasing the talents of all our LJ DANCERS from the littlest pupils in First Steps classes all the way up to our adult classes, and the range of styles for your enjoyment are ballet, tap, modern, street dance, contemporary and musical theatre.

Stevenage Festival has taken place every two years since 1994 and provides a showcase for the wealth of artistic and performing talent that we have in and around the town. REFUND & RESALES

We regret that tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is postponed or cancelled when only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. The face value of re-sold tickets will be refunded to a credit note; tickets may be exchanged for a different performance within the run of the same show. PARKING

This will help to reduce the volume of traffic queuing at the end of the evening. There are limited parking spaces available for Blue Badge Holders, these are located on the service road at the front of the theatre, these spaces are subject to the usual restrictions, are policed by traffic wardens and cannot be pre-booked.
