Welcome

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome everybody to what we hope will be an amazing year ahead at the historic Everyman Theatre and our brand-new education and community centre at Grove Street in Cheltenham’s Lower High Street corridor. We have just finished another exhilarating pantomime season, with Robin Hood and His Merry Men receiving rave reviews and setting a record-breaking box office with more than 45,000 seats sold, and proceeds benefitting our Grove Street project.

Our new season programme truly includes something for everyone. Following the 2025 success of Murder On the Orient Express, we will be graced with the latest adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel; Death on the Nile, this February. The shortest month of the year will also feature the return of the hit-packed modern classic musical, The Bodyguard.

The new season will also feature plenty of thrills (Single White Female), classic drama (the RSC’s The Constant Wife), opera (from English Touring Opera and the Ukrainian National Opera) and ballet (the return of Birmingham Royal Ballet).

Further highlights include the final chapter in the Yes, Minister Series (I’m Sorry, Prime Minister) and

the West-End smash (Choir of Man), which will bring a working pub to the Everyman Theatre stage.

In April, legend of stage and screen, Sir Derek Jacobi, will grace our theatre by hosting a Charity Gala to benefit our Grove Street Education and Community Centre. Refurbishment work is well underway at the centre, putting us on schedule to open the facility this year, and we’re continuing our fundraising efforts toward our £1 million target.

These funds will allow us to create a spectacular new space for young people and underserved populations of Cheltenham, to experience the lifechanging benefits of participation in the arts. Your support in helping us achieve this goal is essential, and our charity gala is a great way to express your support while enjoying a captivating evening with a stage icon.

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre in April and throughout the new season, and wish you all a very happy New Year.

On board a luxurious cruise under the heat of the Egyptian sun, a couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder. As secrets that have been buried in the sands of time finally resurface, can the world-famous detective, Hercule Poirot, untangle the web of lies and solve another crime?

Ben Onwukwe boasts a 30-year stage career, including leading roles with the RSC and the Royal Court, and eleven years on TV as Recall McKenzie in London’s Burning. Bill Ward is best known for his long-running performances as Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street and James Barton in Emmerdale, but most recently he has been baring all as Gerald in the UK tour of The Full Monty.

Feel the thrill of fiery passion, jealousy, and violence of 19th-century Seville in Bizet’s most popular opera.

Set in Japan at the turn of the last century, it is the story of a doomed love affair between an American naval officer and his young Japanese bride whose self-sacrifice and defiance of her family leads to tragedy.

Though infinitely sad and tragic, the compelling tale of Madama Butterfly remained Puccini’s favourite opera – his supreme theatrical achievements also gave the world its most sublime and beautiful arias in history - One Fine Day and Love Duet, as well as the Humming Chorus, which has been popular with opera-goers for over a century.

Carmen tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who falls head over heels in love with Carmen, a seductive, freespirited femme fatale. The infatuated Don José abandons his childhood sweetheart and neglects his military duties, only to lose the fickle Carmen to the glamorous toreador Escamillo.

The music of Carmen has been widely acclaimed for the brilliance of its melodies, enthralling atmosphere, and orchestration, as well as for the skill with which Bizet musically represented the emotions and suffering of his characters.

This touching tale of innocent love crushed between two utterly different cultures resonates as strongly as ever in today’s world.

Adapted by Oliver Award-winner Laura Wade (Posh, TV's Rivals) from Somerset Maugham’s glittering comedy, this Royal Shakespeare Company production opened in Stratford-uponAvon to marvellous reviews and sold every seat.

Directed by Co-Artistic Director of the RSC Tamara Harvey, this sparkling new version will star Kara Tointon (TV’s Mr Selfridge and winner of Strictly Come Dancing) and features original music composed by multi-award-winning jazz artist Jamie Cullum.

A one-man theatre show based on the life of Titanic survivor, Edward Dorking.

Nancy Kerr & James Fagan are one of the most beloved and enduring acts in British folk.

More mind-blowing magic is in store as the team from An Evening of Deception returns for 2026!

Twice Winners of Best Duo at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, they combine stunning vocals and stellar instrumentation on fiddle, guitar and bouzouki with Nancy's insightful and poetic lyrics.

Coming back to the show is one of the founding members, Andi Gladwin, from right here in Gloucestershire, but now a veteran of performing around the world, including TV shows such as Penn & Teller: Fool Us (he did fool them!) and Masters of Illusion. Andi’s bringing his brand-new show back home.

The Blackheart Orchestra is a British multi-award-winning, multi-instrumentalist duo consisting of Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Plkington. They comprise a two-person ‘orchestra’ playing up to 13 instruments in their unique live show.

Edward was gay. Openly gay, and on Wednesday, April 10th, 1912, he set sail for NYC on a ticket bought for him by his parents in the hope his American family could put him 'right'.

Third Class charts Edward's journey from boarding the Titanic to swimming for 30 minutes towards an already full collapsible lifeboat and how he, upon arriving in New York, would tour the Vaudeville circuit, recreating the stories for a fact-hungry public.

From their onstage ‘musical space station,’ they create highly emotional contemporary rock music featuring a multitude of sounds and atmospheres, from acoustic and electric guitars, bass and bowed guitar, to piano, organ, vintage synthesisers, omnichord, melodica, glockenspiel, and electric percussion.

But Edward didn't want fame; he wanted revenge...

Over the last 30 years, the couple have brought joy, inspiration and some memorably energetic arrangements to global audiences.

From traditional ballads and fiery Northumbrian fiddle tunes, this set will cover the great dynamic and thematic range for which Nancy and James are so admired.

Three Counties Talent Hub The United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer.

To raise awareness of the role of women in rural communities, the Three Counties Talent Hub (Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham; Malvern Theatres and Worcester Theatres) is commissioning a brand-new play to be performed at each of the three theatres.

It’s so new that it doesn’t have a title yet!
