Dear Birth Mother Thank you so much for considering us for this amazing opportunity. We will always appreciate you for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are John and Shelby. After two long years of marital bliss, we decided we just could no longer wait to start and grow our family. We have always wanted a house full of children. However, after one to two years of trying, we were told that we had a very slim chance to conceive without expensive and invasive medical treatments. We did not want the extreme medical procedures, but we did not want to give up on our dream of children either. We tried fostering for a few years and had to say goodbye to every child that came into our home. We were devastated and wanted a little one that we could raise and love. Then, we found Everlasting Adoptions and you. We are so very blessed and overjoyed that you would consider us for this wonderful opportunity. We would like to assure you that the child/children will be surrounded by love (our love and others that we are close to). About John John is a wonderful husband. He is hardworking, strong, intelligent, gentle, loyal, and kind. I have seen him with all our nieces and our one nephew. I cannot ask for a better partner to raise and love a child/children with. He was born in Maine and has traveled across the United States twice growing up. His favorite school subject was computer science, of course. He is, now, the manager of information security at BCBS. When he is not at work, he usually like to play video games with his friend online or and a DIY puzzle to complete.

Hawaii is one of my favorite vacation spots and hope to one day be able to bring the entire family to. Attending a few football games with some of our friends through out the year is something I value a lot. If i'm not attending the game you'll catch me watching football or playing video games. I love watching Interstellar or Monk reruns. Sometimes I like to read or listen to audio books, one of my favorites right now is The Stand by Stephen King. Christmas is a big deal to me for one I love a big celebration. Putting up all the Christmas lights to hopefully have the biggest light show in our community.

About Shelby Shelby is a kind, loving, smart, and strong woman who deeply cares for the people in her life. She loves to take care of our nieces and nephew and shower them with love and attention. She is my best friend and partner in life and the person I want to raise children with. She was born and raised in MS and went to West Lauderdale for most of her schooling which is near Meridian, MS; however, she is well traveled and has been as far north as Maine and as far west as Hawaii. Her favorite subject in school was anything science related, although Shelby has a special love for Chemistry.

I’m currently a home maker who keeps up our house and make sure life is in order.

This will be beneficial when we add a little one to our family. I will be able to be home with the child/children. I’m also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant because I love to help others. I love to read a good book, go on walks, playing card games and draw/paint. My favorite food is spaghetti, but one of my favorite places to eat is Chickfila and Biagi’s (Italian restaurant). I love to watch almost any movie, but Disney movies are my favorite. I love hosting large holidays at our home where we get all the family together so we can celebrate and just share the love.

About Us

We met in 2013 when we both attended college in south MS. With an accepted Facebook friend request, 2 weeks awaiting a message, and an introduction by a mutual friend, our two separate lives started folding into one. We were married in 2016 and the rest is a long, beautiful history. We love finding all sorts of little adventures in our hometown in MS. Some of which include: swimming, hiking, walking our dogs, and taking our nieces and nephew to the park. We also love vacations full of adventure whether it be a coastal or inland state.Sometimes we like a quiet evening at home with the animals or hanging our with our friends/family. We love playing the fun aunt and uncle, but long for the day we can add little ones to the mix.

Our Family

We love spending time with our family. The people that we see the most are John’s parents Robin and Wally, his eldest sister Shanna and her husband Matt with their two daughters Iona and Kora. During the holidays these two little girls love running around to play with anything they can and. Kora seems more interested in the animal toys while Iona loves taking all the studied animals out to play house or school or tea parties. She has also been known to make sure you have plenty of studied animals to keep you safe as you nap. I remember waking up surrounded by lovies and Iona saying that I looked like I needed some extra love from them after a nap. We, also, see my sister-in-law, Leighanne a lot. She has three children that we get to keep for a weekend every so often. Her daughter Maggi is the oldest, followed by her brother Wailon, and her new baby sister Johnni. Now, Maggi and Wailon love to run around and take all the toys out upstairs, as well, as climb all over their Uncle John and Aunt Shelby. And, we love reading them stories before bed when they stay.

We see Shelby’s mother and father very seldom, even around the holidays. Her father, Stan, lives in another state, and we have to keep in touch by phone. Her mother and stepdad, Natacha and Bill, are mainly home-bound for the foreseeable future taking care of her grandmother, Bobbie. Her Nana cannot handle too much travel or excitement without being extremely fatigued, but we visit when possible. We love having our family over. We love watching our nieces and nephew cause chaos and have fun in our home. We even have the opportunity to keep some of our friends children as well. We cannot wait to have a fun loving, chaos seeking, energetic little one for us to raise and teach and love.

Home We live in a 2-story house with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms located in MS. We have a wonderful fenced back yard that is big enough of 3 dogs and whatever a child could want to have fun outside. The second story of our home features 2 bedrooms with dressers and toys for our nieces and nephews to play with when we keep them.

The bedrooms are connected by a full bathroom. There is also closet on the second door landing that houses games and puzzles for everyone to enjoy. The main door has all of the main living areas, as well as, our master suite and on powder room for guests. Our home is used as the main hub for hosting the holidays. We love having our near-by (and far-away) friends and family join us for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, etc. It is a beautiful time when we are surrounded by fellowship and love.

Our Pets

We have 3 dogs and 1 cat. Tipsy is the youngest and is a black-lab mix. Kaylee is next and she is a golden-retriever mix. Murphy is the oldest and he is a shepherd, border-collie mix. They are all great with other people and love children.

Tipsy and Kaylee love when someone plays fetch out in the yard. Tipsy always wins. Murphy just loves when any and everyone pets him. Panda is a black-white tabby cat. He is very gentle and wants all the love and attention from everyone he meets.
