About Us

JacobandImetinoursingleswardshortlyafterhismission,webecamefriendsquickly,and remainedfriendsforaboutayearandahalf.Duringthistime,webuiltadeepandbeautiful friendship,weadmiredandcaredforeachother.Aftermonthsofhangingoutandbeingtogether everyday,wefinallystarteddating,fellinloveandgotengaged.Jacobproposedatthepreschool whereItaught.Hehadallofthekidssing“YouAreMySunshine”andattheendofthesongthey heldupsignsthatread“willyoumarryme”.FourmonthslaterweweremarriedintheMantiUtah Temple.Wearesoblessedthatwegottomarryourbestfriend.

We’vebeenmarriedfor7beautifulyears!Duringthistime,Jacobhasbuiltuphiscareerinthe techindustry.Helovesservinghiscustomersandworkingthembethetobethemosteffective theypossiblycanbe.I’mapreschoolteacher,butrightnowIworkatthecharterschoolour childrenattend.Whenourfamilygrowsalittlemore,mydesireistoagainownmyownbusiness. Rachelhasbeenandcontinuestobeoneofthemost amazingpeopleIhaveevermet.Sheisthefirst personwhocaredaboutme,andwhoIwas,and thatwaspartofwhatmademefallinlovewithher.

Rachelwasborntobeamother.Sheiswarm andinvitingtoallshemeets,andisanincredible mother.Shehasanincredibleintuition,andher loveforherfamilyandchildrenisunmatched. Rachellovestohavefunandmostofall,havefun withthosesheloves.Rachelwillbe,continueto be,andforeverexcelatbeingamother.During herteachingcareer,shemadeadifferenceinthe livesofhundredsofchildren,andshe’schanging thelivesofourown.Allinall,Rachelistrulyone inabillionoratrillion.

Work

Racheliscurrentlyworkingattheirchildren’scharter school.Shelovesseeinghernephewsandchildren everydayandbeingthereifshe’severneeded.When RachelandJacobgetanadditionalfamilymember, Rachelwillstayathomeandtakecareofthem.Rachel enjoysbeinginthehome,sheisfulfilledbytakingcare of,nurturing,andfeedingherfamily.Sheenjoys havingtheopportunitytospendqualitytimewith everymember.

Our Family

We have a fun family with really fun family traditions We spend New Years Eve with Rachel’s sister and her family We make a big dinner and lots of snacks to eat all night We go all out for spring holidays (Easter, Valentines etc) We make food and treats and usually have gifts involved For the 4th of July, our whole neighborhood (and community) comes to our house We have food, popsicles, and at night we all light fireworks creating a beautiful show When fall comes, we all go to Nike and get new shoes We have hosted a "Monster Mash" for the last 7 years on Halloween We have a big chocolate fountain with all sorts of treats to dip in it Aunt Candice makes home made root beer that we add dry ice to to make it look like witches brew We have a costume contest, a haunted VR race, a raffle and prizes for all the games It is one of our favorite traditions we look forward to it all year! On actual Halloween, we go trick or treating, the kids donate 1/2 their candy (by choice) to the old folks home in our area and then we let them go pick out a book to buy We host Thanksgiving for Jacob's family and Rachel's dad Rachel and Jake's sister, Heidi, spend all day cooking and baking Christmas time is spent going to light festivals, hot cocoa stands, live Nativity scenes, and visiting friends and family On Christmas Eve, we track Santa, play games, open Christmas pjs, watch a movie and wake up to presents under the tree Christmas morning we play with our gifts, eat a late breakfast and take turns visiting with both sides of the family

Nicoleisour11-year-oldinfifthgrade.Sheissmart,kind,andfunny.Nicole lovesart,Football,andHalloween.Shewillalwaysstickupforanyonewhoneeds afriend.She’salwaystheretohelpyoufeelbetterwhenyou’resad.

Nathan,isouranine-year-oldinfourthgrade.Heisgoofy,sensitive,andsweet. NathanlovesKarate,Scouts,andvideogames.Nathanisourclown.Helightens themoodinanyroomwithhissilliness.It’sliterallyimpossibletofeeldownwith Nathanaround.

AllthreeofourkidshavebeenbeggingforababyaskingRachelifshe’ssureshe can’thavekidsTheyarereadyfor,andsoexcitedtowelcomeababyintothe family!Theirbabysiblingwillbesospoiledandlovedbyallthreeofthem

Leisure

Ourfamilyenjoysavarietyofactivities.Weloveswimming!Wegotolotsofponds,poolsandlakes. Weenjoycampingandtravelingwhentheopportunityarises.CaliforniaandOregonaresomeofour favoritedestinations.Welovedoingextracurricularactivities,namely,football,basketball,andKarate. Wealsoenjoylearningaboutotherculturesandbeliefsfromaroundtheworld.Welikefindingplaces nearbythatcelebratethesedifferentwaysoflivingandgoingandexperiencingthem.Weteachour kidsthatit’sgoodtohaveyourownbeliefs,andvalues,butit’simportanttolove,celebrate,andinclude everyone.

Weenjoyplayingvideogames,Zeldaisafamilyfavorite.WealsolovehangingoutwithRachel’sbest friend/sisterofthelast15years.Wegotomuseums,zoos,andthefoothillstogether.Wealsospend timejustallbeingtogetheratoneofourhouses.Thekidsloveplayinghidinggamesinthebasementor gettingwetintheyard.

Oursweetpetsareaverybigpartofourfamily!Donovanisasixyearoldshorkiepug.Helovessniffing around,playingfetch,andsleeping.WecallDonovanourtherapydog;fyou’resad,madsickordownatall, Donovanisrightbyyoursidehelpingyoufeelbetter.ChloeisourfiveyearoldYorkie-poo.There’snothing shewouldn’tdotojustsnuggle.EveryonewhocomesininstantlylovesChloe’shugsandcuddles.Sheenjoys wearingsweaters,andjustbeingwithyou.Ellieisouralmostoneyearoldboxer.sheisplayfulandfun.She lovesrunningaroundoutside,snugglingwiththekids,andplayingwithRachel‘sbestfriendsdogGrahm.She isthebestgirlanyonecouldaskfor.Mavisisourthreeyearoldcat.ShelovesJakeandbeingoutside.Wandais ouroneyearoldcat.Shelovesbeingpetandhuntingmicewherevershecanfindthem.

Weliveinathreebedroom,threeleveltownhomeWehaveabackyardwithafruitandvegetablegardenInour basement,wehaveahometheaterandJacob’sHomeofficeThemainlevelofourhomeisourkitchenandlivingroom UpstairshasourlaundryroomandbedroomsOurroomisverylarge,andhalfofitwillbemadeintoanurseryforthe firstyearandahalfofthebabieslife;AfterthattheywillmoveinwiththeireageroldersisterNicoleWeliveinagood, beautifulhomethatweloveverymuch.Ourneighborhoodandcommunityareamazing!Weliveinaverydiversearea fullofdifferentculturesandbeliefs.Wehaveparksoneverysideofourhomethatallthekidsintheneighborhoodget togetherandplayat.Wehaveareallybigpark/splashpadthat’safiveminutedrivefromourhouse.WehavelotsofPaths, foothills,dogparks,andskateparksthatprovidelotsofoutdoorenrichment.Thecommunityisfullofshopsandeateries toenjoy.Therearechurchesandgoodschoolsthatallowforawell-roundededucation,andspiritualdevelopment.
