Dear Birthmother, We want to first start off by thanking you for allowing us to present our profile to you. We also want to thank you for being so strong and courageous to even consider us as potential adoptive parents to your precious angel. We understand this may be a difficult decision for you, but we are very grateful that you’re giving us this opportunity.

About Us Let me introduce ourselves to you, my name is Rebecca, and my husband’s name is Martin. We like to go by Becky and Marty. We've been married for four years now and together for almost ten years. We have two children, who are now adults. We are hoping to expand our family through adoption. We feel that even though our children are grown, we still have so much love to give a baby. When we talked about adopting our next child, there are so many reasons it is the right choice. We are in our forties and love children. We have a slew of nieces and nephews, our love for family has brought us to this decision.

A little back story of how we met... It all started with my nephew being born. Marty worked with my brother and sister-in-law in the Emergency Medical Field. They worked together a lot, and my brother was having a baby, who I hadn’t been able to see yet. Wouldn’t you know Marty called me and asked me to go with him to see the new baby, I said yes and almost ten years later here we are! We are very hard workers. Marty has been in the EMS field as a paramedic for almost twenty years and I have been in the retail business for almost the same amount of time. I work at a place called Sheetz as an assistant manager. It has its ups and downs, but I love the people I get to meet along the way.

A little bit about our free time activities, we are very family driven. So, any chance we get to spend time with them means a lot to us. If we aren’t with family, you could probably find us at a cemetery restoring old and maybe forgotten headstones. We will look at the old and deteriorating ones and clean them and get them as good as possible. Sometimes they are too far weathered to restore them back to original condition, but we get as close as we can. It makes us feel good about helping others in a way that we would hope someone would help us or our family. Speaking of helping other people, we like to volunteer at homeless shelters and help dish out dinners or drive dinners to the shut-ins who don’t have a way out. We love holidays, as it gives us family time that we may not have with everyone’s work schedules.

We also love to travel. Since getting together, we have been to fourteen states. It is always nice to see how other people live, not just the ones in our town.

About Marty What can I say about my husband?

Marty is one of the kindest, most loving men I know. He always puts others first, often putting himself on the back burner. For example, after losing my mom, he took in my special needs aunt and completely changed not only his life to put her needs first, but he also remodeled his house to accommodate her. This isn’t even talking about his love for his children and what he has done and will continue to do for them.

He truly is my best friend and a wonderful man and a great dad to the kids we have. I have no doubt in my mind that he will continue to be the greatest dad to any child we may adopt. I love his heart. Even though he tries to hide his feelings sometimes, I know him, and I know who is truly inside and I wouldn’t change a thing about him.

About Becky Becky is by nature a warm-hearted person who has treated her nieces and nephews as if she were their mother. This is a quality that she displays well. Becky chooses her family over everything and anything and everybody. She has shown me and those around her that there is no stopping her when she is focused on something. It is things like this that make her a good partner in life, and an even better mom. Becky has also always treated my family as if they were her own from the very beginning.

As far as starting her own family, she has always been very strong with her feelings as to having little ones of her own. The way she treats children and really people in general shows me that she would be a great mom to any new family members who come our way. No matter if it’s he or she, they will most definitely be loved.

Our Family We are very strong family-oriented people. We love the togetherness of family and there is no greater gift on earth than family. Marty comes from a family of five. With his childhood being a little harder than some, that just made him push harder for his family to be close. Our children know they are loved and know that family is always number one. Family will always there at the drop of a hat. Just an example, our niece came in for a graduation party and needed a ride to the airport. Marty was all in, he got up especially early to have her there in time for not only her flight but making sure she was safe and was there in a timely manner to not be rushed.

When it comes to our holidays, it is not uncommon for all the girls to get together and start baking or decorating or just preparing for the holidays, whether it be Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving or just little picnics. I come from a close-knit family of six, and again we always knew we were loved, and that family is always there for one another. We would go to church as a whole family and on Sundays we would all gather at our grandparents’ house for dinner and family time. This is something that I have missed over the years as our grandparents are no longer with us.

When I was in elementary school, we had a house fire. Although as a ten-year-old girl this is devastating, the loss of everything I owned gave me more of an understanding of the value of that togetherness. We lost everything but we still had each other. Then we rebuilt our home and grew up and now we are passing those traits down to our families. We are always here for each other. After I lost my mom a few years ago, I took care of my Aunt Patty, she is priceless, and unlike no other. In today’s world they would say she is severely autistic but when she was diagnosed, they called it something else. She knows I am here for her and that won’t change. Marty and I have other relatives who hold a special place in our hearts. We are so grateful for what each of our family members have taught us.

Lesuire We have a few close friends that we get together with here and there, but it’s mainly just us and our family. We are always checking in with everyone to make sure that they are good and don’t need anything.

Our hobbies vary, in my alone time I like to sit on my front porch or on my back patio and read books, yes that’s right.. Books. I do have some movies or shows that I like, but it's not uncommon for our TV not to be on. I like going on walks and listening to music of all genres. I like working out and going to the gym. I would say restoring headstones could count as a hobby. Marty is more of a history buff than I am, so he is always wanting to show me a new place and tell me the history of it and how it came to be. He likes to do home improvement and is always trying to do something new to our home. He has an antique Mustang that he likes to tinker with. He has some ghost hunting or history shows he likes to watch. He enjoys classical music and Frank Sinatra genres.

As far as traveling is concerned, we love it! In the almost ten years we have been together, we have been to fourteen states. We've been to the Ryman Auditorium, Graceland, Myrtle, Atlantic City, Outer Banks, Rhode Island, and Block Island. So yeah, we love to travel. Of course, there are many places still to come!

I am more into sports than Marty is. My favorite sport is hockey, the Pittsburgh Penguins to be exact. Being from Pennsylvania, I like all the sports teams even if they aren’t doing so great. We have been to hockey games and baseball games, haven’t been to football though. We have been to several different concerts over the years. We went to see Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Alabama, and then I saw Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker. I’m sure there are more or will be more down the line.

Our Pets We take our dog to the dog park and take her for walks around our block and to the parks locally. We play fetch with her, well we are trying to teach her how to play fetch. We have three cats; they are funny creatures. They are lovable. In fact, one likes to sleep in our bed with me and one sleeps with Marty on his side. All our pets are fun and lovable.

Our other cat is a loner and likes to be by herself and only comes around when she wants to, and that is ok. We have both grown up with pets (dogs and cats) and the joy you get from having animals is something everyone should get to experience at least once of their lives.

Our Home Our home is 2,500 sq. ft. We have six bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. We have a nice size attic, but we primarily use that for storage. We don’t have a big yard, but what we are lacking in a yard we make up for in house. We don’t really need a yard because we have four parks that are nearby. Our neighborhood is nice, quiet and diverse. That makes for a nice place to live. We are about four blocks away from the middle school. The other schools aren’t too far, and they are decent in their academics. They are a superior school and associate with a higher class. The classes aren’t too big, and the graduating class has around two hundred students. The nursery is obviously not ready now because we don’t live with any little babies at the present time, but will be ready when our baby arrives. We have a theme picked out for him or her and can’t wait to make it his or her special place that comes to life with the laughter and joy of our new addition.
