IamanAccountServicesmanagerforabootcompany.Iworkwithstoresallover theUSthatsellourboots,andIreallyenjoymyjob!Oneofmybrothersandoneof mybestfriendsworkwithmewhichmakesitthatmuchmoreenjoyable.Right afterhighschoolIjoinedaChristianmissionsorganizationandspentatotalof about11yearsworkingwiththemoffandonThroughthatorganization,I’vebeen abletoexperiencedifferentcultures,andI’vespentalotoftimeinAsia.Ilivedin Thailandfulltimefrom2017until2019,andthatcountrywillalwayshaveapiece ofmyheart.Ivolunteeredwithachildsponsorshipprogramtherewherepeople fromNorthAmericasponsoredstudentssothattheycouldgotoschool.Someof ourstudentscamefromremotehilltribevillageswhere,withoutthehelpof sponsors,alotofchildrenhadtofinishtheireducationbythetimetheyreached middleschoolsothattheycouldworkinthefields.
Thisisacriticaltimewheresome childrenaretraffickedItwasaveryeye openingexperienceforme,andIamso thankfulformytimethere!Iwasalso abletoteachEnglishwhilelivingthere andthatwasalotoffun! InmyfreetimeIlovetoreadandtake mydogonwalksIalsolovetotravel andspendtimewithmyfamily.

FrommyfriendRaquel-MandyistheabsolutebestpersonIwouldrecommend tobeanadoptiveparent.SheisoneofthemostreliableandresponsiblepeopleI know.Sheiskind,caring,andwarm.Shehasexperiencewithchildrenofallages andtwoadoptedsiblings.Shehasasupportsystemoffamilyandfriendsthat willwelcomeanychildintotheirarmsandgivethemtherespect,care,andlove theyneedanddeserve.MandyandIhavebeenfriendsforalmost20years,and shehascontinuallydemonstratedhergiftofcaringforothers.Whetheritwas providingchildcareforourfriends’children,caringforsomeonegoingthrougha hardtime,ortakingcareoforphans,sheispatient,consistent,andgenerous.She hasaspecialabilitytoconnectwithchildrenandlightsupwhenshe’saround them.Assomeonewhoworkswithinthechildwelfaresystem,Iamtrainedin identifyingtheneedsofchildrenandassessingacaregiver’sabilitytomeetthose needsandprovideeachchildwithasafeandstructuredenvironment.Icantruly say,notonlyasherfriend,butalsoasaprofessional,thatIbelieveMandywill provideasafe,structured,supportive,healthy,active,funandloving environmentforachildtogrow,learn,bethemselvesandthrive.

Iamtheoldestof5with2sistersand2brothersMyparentshavebeen marriedforover40years.Myparentswerefosterparentsfor10years,sowe alwayshadextrasiblingsaroundwhenIwasateenager.Exceptformy youngestsister,wholivesinCalifornia,everyoneliveswithin10minutestoan hour’sdrivefromeachother.Oneofmysistershastwoteenagesons.Her youngestwasinahorriblecaraccidentlastsummerandspentthenext3 monthsinthehospitalrecoveringfromaTraumaticBrainInjuryIthinkwe’ve alwaysbeenprettyclose,butthatbroughtusallcloserforsure.Weallget togetherforeveryholiday,withChristmasbeingthebiggestcelebration.
FunTime
Ilovetomeetmyfriendsfordinnerorgotoa concert.MyfavoritegenreisCountry,andIwas abletogotoafewfunconcertsinthelastcouple ofyears!Istillhavethesamegroupofgirlfriends fromhighschool,andwelivefairlyclosetoeach other.I’malsosuperclosetoafewfriendsfrom whenIwasonmissions,andwetrytoget togetheratleastonceperyear.We’repretty spreadout,butit’sfuntomeetupwiththemin differentlocations.ThispastFebruary,wemetup inCancunandhadsuchafuntime!
Inmyfreetime,Ilovetoreadandlistento podcasts.Ialsolovetobeoutdoors…atleast whentheweatherisnice!Itakemydogon walksasoftenasIcan,andduringthesummer, welovetogoonhikes.Iattendawomen’s fitnessclassbrightandearlyfivemorningsa weekandreallyenjoythecamaraderieandthe wayitchallengesme

Ihaveonedog,Charlie,whoisthreeyears old.She’saGermanShepherdandvery spoiled!Shegetssoexcitedtogoon walks,ridesinthecar,andwhenanyone throwstheballforher.Shelovespeople butcanbescaredofotheranimals–mostlyonesthataresmallerthanher whichcanbeprettyfunnysometimes.My sisterhastwocats,andCharliewon’tgo insideherhouseunlessshe’sdraggedin there.
IliveinthebeautifulstateofMontana!Iamblessedtoshareahomewithmyparents, whoaresoexcitedforanothergrandchildtobeaddedtothefamily.Weliveoutinthe countryonabout20acressothereislotsofspacetorunaroundEventhoughIlivein thecountry,I’mnottoofarfromtown,andtherearegreatschoolsveryclosetome. Montanaisfullofbeautifulhikingtrails,andIenjoytakingadvantagewheneverthe weatherisniceWeareauniversitytown,andthereareanumberofbigskiresorts within30minutesofmyhomesowehavelotsofpeoplecomingfromallovertovisit.
