We wanted to have a child together, and although we were able to get pregnant, Tonya was unable to carry the baby past the first trimester, resulting in miscarriages. Both of our employers help with adoption funding, so we started looking into it as an option. We had talked about it a few times when our niece came to visit for a week with her new baby.
