Dear Birthmother, First off, we would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We can’t begin to imagine how hard this decision was for you to make, but we do truly admire the strength and courage you have. We will be forever grateful to you for giving us the gift of parenthood.

We are BJ and Brianne, and we have been together for 9 years. Early on in our relationship, we both knew that we wanted to be parents, and even discussed our mutual interest in fostering and adoption. Shortly after our wedding, we decided we were ready to start a family, but after trying for several years on our own and going through several rounds of fertility treatments, we decided our next step would be to pursue adoption. We can not wait to welcome a little one into our family, shower them with love, and give them the best life we can.

About Us We first met in 2013. On our first date, we had lunch, ate cotton candy, picked up bread and fed ducks at a nearby pond. We ended the date with baking a batch of BJ’s favorite chocolate chip cookies. In 2016, BJ proposed at our favorite vacation spot in the mountains, just as the snow began to fall. In 2017, we were married in a beautiful ceremony officiated by a close family friend, surrounded by our closest family and friends.

We own a small business, which we have owned for just over 2 years.

BJ worked at the company for over 15 years, before the previous owners retired. We currently employ 13 people. BJ oversees day to day operations.

Brianne has a strong interest in early childhood development; in 2018 she began schooling to earn a degree in the field, and started working at a preschool serving special needs students in 2019. Brianne worked at the preschool for just over 2 years before making the decision to leave and focus on starting our family. Brianne is currently a stay at home wife, and helps with clerical work at our company on an as needed basis.

As a couple, we spend our time visiting all the museums, aquariums, and zoos in the surrounding area. We enjoy working on projects around our home: we once built a brand new fence in our backyard! We also enjoy working in our garden, where we grow our own fruits and veggies. We love to spend time with our family & friends. We are the bakers in our family; BJ’s delicious chocolate chip cookies are always requested at family gatherings! :) Brianne is a book lover and always has been! She has saved many of her favorite childhood books to share with her future children. She is also a crafter; she loves to sew, crochet, and use her die-cutting machine to make personalized gifts for her family and friends.

BJ enjoys playing strategy games, like chess, going on hikes with his friends and watching football.

They seem to be drawn to her everywhere we go! She has wanted to be a mom since she was a little girl, and I couldn’t imagine taking this journey into parenthood with anyone other than her.

About Bj

BJ is laid back and easy going, and always has a quick, witty response. He is intelligent, loyal and incredibly hardworking. He genuinely cares for others and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is always there to offer advice or guidance, and encourages those around him to be the best versions of themselves. While passionate about his own personal beliefs, he enjoys learning and discussing others viewpoints. I love seeing him interact with the kiddos in our family/friend group; he’s never afraid to sit down and play with them! I know that these qualities will make him a wonderful father. I can’t wait to see him shine in that role!

Work During our first few conversations early on in our relationship, BJ shared his goal of being a business owner. Together, with lots of hard work and dedication, we were able to make that dream a reality when BJ’s boss decided to retire. We have owned the company for over 2 years, and it has afforded us many opportunities. BJ has enjoyed stepping into the role of business owner and offering a welcoming place to work. This has allowed Brianne to become a stay at home wife, and once children arrive, she will be a stay at home mom. Having stay at home parent is important to us because it will allow us to focus on building strong relationships with our children.

Leisure We have a tight-knit friend group and most of them have young kids. We get together as often as possible for BBQ’s and dinners!

We take at least one small trip a year, our favorite spot being a cabin up in the mountains.

We also enjoy taking trips to the coast; we love to relax on the beach! Every couple of years, we go on a vacation with our extended family.

Pets We have a sweet, energetic dog named Nyx. We love taking her for walks and trips to the dog park.

We also have a sweet, cuddly cat named Duma, whom we have had since she was a tiny kitten!

Our Home We live in a cozy, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood.

We have lots of space in our front and backyard, and we love to entertain friends and family here! We are fortunate enough to live in a fantastic, family friendly area that offers plenty of parks, nature trails, and community and cultural events. Each level of school is just under 10 minutes away!

Our Family

Our family is very important to us. We are blessed to have many family members in our area, as well as several members spread out throughout the state. We get together with both sides of our family for every holiday.

We also get together for birthdays and special events as often as possible. BJ’s brother and sister are very important to us; they served as the best man and maid of honor in our wedding. BJ’s mom lives just 5 minutes away, and we get together for weekly walks in our neighborhood. Although Brianne’s family is spread out throughout the state, they keep in constant contact and get together as often as possible. We enjoy getting together frequently with our families for monthly breakfasts, board game nights, puzzles and to watch local sports teams.

During the holiday season, we enjoy getting together with our family for numerous activities, our favorite activity being our annual family wide gingerbread house decorating extravaganza!
