The AndyofProfile & Heidi
Dear Birthmother,
We would like to introduce ourselves; our names are Andy & Heidi We are so grateful that you have found us, and we have finally found you! We live in the Pacific Northwest and get to call the beautiful state of Washington our home We were both born and raised right here in Washington and have been together for almost 7 years. We both genuinely love children and enjoy their presence. It has always been easy for each of us to be around kids, which we believe is a gift We love their presence, innocent nature, the wisdom they have to offer and their love for all things, big and small. We love how eager they are to experience and share things happening all around them by learning to express themselves in their own ways. We are excited to start a family and share in the beauty of the world with a child and, in turn, for them to share the beauty of themselves with us.

We believe that with love anything is possible. We are ready to share this love even more by growing a family While we understand this process may not always seem easy or feel easy for you, we want to express how grateful we are that you have chosen to share this gift with another family. It takes a lot of thought and willpower to make the decision to share your child with the world While we don't know your story or the reason you are here, we will never judge you, and we will strive to be the best adoptive family you could ask for. We promise we will love and support your child for as long as we both live
All About
Andy

I grew up as an only child I am very close with my parents, and I still talk to them almost every day. It was very important to my parents that my childhood was a positive experience. We talked about a lot of things over the years, and I learned the importance and value that communication has from them. We also knew how to have fun! We spent many nights playing games and watching movies together, laughing as much as possible. I would work in the woods outside my childhood home with my dad, building trails and chopping/stacking wood. To this day, I still get a thrill when I am outside working in those same woods On my own, I enjoyed reading, learning and listening to music. I also had friends to share indoor and outdoor activities with as well. I am proud to say that many of those friends, I still have today! After college, at the University of Washington, I joined a traveling children’s theater company and spent a year seeing the entire United States (really, I think I saw 40 of the 50 states that year). After getting bitten by the acting bug, I decided to move to Los Angeles I spent 12 years down south, acting, writing and producing projects. I even worked as a tour guide on the Paramount studio lot! It was an eye-opening, once in a lifetime experience The things I learned during that phase of my life, I now use daily.
I have always wanted to start a family of my own so I returned home about 10 years ago My parents were getting older, and I wanted to spend more quality time with them. Our family business also needed some updating, and I knew with the skills I had learned, I could really help support it. Most importantly, I was eager to find a wife who wanted to start a family with me When I found Heidi, I knew she was the right person for sure! We have built an amazing life together, and I know we are ready to take the next step towards being parents of our own. I can’t wait to share the experiences I had as a child with my own children, in the same place I got to experience them.
All About Heidi
I was born and raised right here in Washington State. My two sisters and I lived in Skagit County for the first 18 years of our lives until we moved out on our own My parents believed in staying in one place for schooling and built a home on some acreage I attended pre-k to 8th grade at the local school, where my mother taught preschool and home economics. I was raised in a Lutheran Church, as my mother's background was Norwegian, and that was the religion followed back home My mother also taught Sunday School which I attended weekly For grades 8-12, I attended High School. Then I attended the local community college and got my AA degree.

I have always loved the outdoors. Growing up, my sisters and I spent most of our time either exploring the 7-acres of our property, biking down the road to our best friend’s house or hiking up into the tree farm across the street to explore the wilderness We had lots of gardens & flowers beds to attend to as my mother had a green thumb, and we had amazing soil at this property. I was raised with values of love, kindness, compassion and empathy for all beings.
I was also raised to be an avid fisher woman, my dad loved to be on the water. Twice a year we would travel to the family cabin on Vancouver Island to fish It was a way that I could really connect with my father. We both shared a passion for building things, learning and fishing I also enjoyed working on cars Both my sisters and I were taught at a young age how to change our oil and work on our own vehicles We were raised with the values that family was everything. My father passed away suddenly about 7 years ago He was one of my best friends and it was tragic for the entire family.

I love food and love to cook Food is one of my love languages and has always been very important to my lifestyle My family's diet consists of healthy food choices, almost all fresh food. We shop at our local Co-op for most of our food and believe what you fuel your body with makes all the difference
I really enjoy art; in that I like to experiment with art forms. I enjoy painting, writing, storytelling and creating colorful artwork at the local glass shop where I am a member These hobbies have proven to be very therapeutic for me and provided an outlet for my expression. I still love to be in nature, and whether it is in the woods, the mountains or the beach, I am at home. It brings a sense of calmness, trust and tranquility to my whole being. I like to think of myself as one with the Earth, because we are of the Earth and that is where we will all return one day.

Heidi About Andy

Andy is the most gentle, humble and loving soul that I have ever met He radiates with positivity and truly cares about everyone he meets. His friends are genuine, honest and true and have been in his life for over thirty years. To me, this is a true testament of loyalty and his commitment to these values.
Andy is not the type of person to hang around if the environment isn’t fulfilling. He thrives in positivity and gravitates towards those who encompass similar values within themselves. Before I met Andy, I had never met anyone who was positive and genuine all the time. I honestly didn’t believe that existed, yet somehow, he proved me wrong It was something that I longed for and always wanted in my life. He is really something special!
I love to watch the world through Andy’s eyes. How he sees the world and who he chooses to share it with is always exciting; he has a gift for people We both work at a family business, so we are together quite often. This has really been a blessing for us because we both have gifts to offer the business in our own unique ways. I love watching him interact with the kids who visit; picking out gloves, wheelbarrows or nuts and bolts with their parents. Andy also communicates well with our nephew through music and often can be found racing matchbox cars, jumping on the trampoline, or practicing baseball pitches with our friend’s kids. He always makes time to connect with them and it is truly special to watch. I can’t wait to see how great of a Papa he will be to our kid(s)

Meet Our Family

Our family lineage is mostly from the islands of Europe. Heidi’s family comes from Norway & England, and she is a first generation American. Andy’s ancestry is from Ireland, Scotland and England, and his family has been in North America for a long time. During the weekends, birthdays and holidays our family gathers to celebrate life. We spend the days helping each other with projects inside and outside. In the evenings we talk, eat and play games together Some of us are more competitive than others, be we always laugh and have a good time. Family is very important to us. We both communicate with our family members either daily or weekly depending on the situation. Since we get to work with half of our family (and the fact they live next door) it is easy to say we see them daily, which we really enjoy. When we leave for work, our dogs take a short trip through the woods to “Grandma and Grampa’s” house to spend the day with them (and get plenty of treats) Our parents love spending the day with the dogs, and they give them extra attention and interactions while we are at work. We are blessed to have this connection and community so close to home. Our other family members live on the beach. We all enjoy the beauty and serenity that this place holds. The dogs are free to run and play and we love beach combing and gathering rocks and buoys on the shore. The sunrises are spectacular! It has been a tradition in our family to celebrate Christmas at this home, and we plan to keep this home in the family for many generations to come.

For Fun

We both love to be outside and go on adventures Whether that means working on or around our new home, visiting the local park to play with the dogs, or taking the camper and heading to the ocean, we love adventures big and small. When we first met, we wanted partners who enjoyed traveling and wanted to see the world. We want to share these experiences with our family.
Andy enjoys reading, writing and learning about history. Watch out on trivia nights; he knows a ton about pop culture, Star Trek and songs of the 1980’s. Andy enjoys playing video games with his friends near and far. Once a week they meet online to play a game, catch up and laugh all night long
Heidi loves to be outside; the Earth is her home and grounds her. The trees bring her joy as they whisper their secrets, the mountains fill her lungs with fresh air, and the ocean shares with her the water of life Her friends are genuine and true. Heidi enjoys journaling and telling stories. She can often be found gardening or working in the woods.
We enjoy watching a movie or TV show in our new “movie room” We both love playing with our dogs daily and try not to spoil them too much. A big part of our weekly activities includes playing board games together, and we frequently join with close friends and neighbors for game nights. It gives us a chance to connect in person, share time and experience life with others.

Our Other Halves

We have two dogs. Olive is our 11-year-old Lab-mix. She is a rescue that Heidi adopted from a local shelter when she was a puppy Olive was truly Heidi’s best friend before she met Andy When Andy showed up, Olive melted right into his heart. It was almost as if they had known each other their entire lives. Olive loves riding in the truck, belly rubs, swimming, and being in the forest She loves kids; she can always be found playing with them and napping at their feet She is gentle, loving and smart, sometimes a bit sassy She lets you know what she wants and needs - usually that means a treat.
Joy is our 2-year-old Coltriever. Coltrievers are bred to be service dogs and are a mix of a Border Collie and Golden Retriever Joy is the sweetest, most gentle soul. She loves to lie at your feet, sit near your legs, give hugs and gently nuzzle her face to yours Joy recently had a litter of 10 healthy puppies at our friend and breeder’s house who lives down the road. She is a true service dog, and all her puppies went into service. One puppy went to avalanche rescue training, another to a child with severe PTSD, just to give a few examples We have never had a dog quite like Joy before; her demeanor is truly amazing, and everybody loves her We like to say Joy loves everyone, because she does, but she loves kids even more-she will follow them around and make sure they are taken care of. She is always ready to play gently with them and lets them be themselves
Olive has been a great big sister to Joy, and they have really bonded. Having a puppy around has kept Olive young and has made a big difference in her life We are so lucky to have two amazing dogs.

Our Home

We live in a beautiful Farmhouse-style home that we built in 2022 Part of the planning with this home was to share the living spaces inside and out We live on a wooded 2 8-acre lot We have larger windows in each room to take in the view of the forest that surrounds us, as well as incorporated a large wrap around porch where you can sit anywhere you like We love to spend time both inside and outside The kitchen is the heart of our home We designed this space to gather, talk, relax and eat We love that the kitchen and living area is one big open room Our guests can gather and enjoy the inside spaces connected between the kitchen and living room or they can step just outside and enjoy the scenery of the woods that surround us
Along the outside of the porch is a rose garden, where we see the birds daily and love feeding the hummingbirds We built this house with the intention of filling the bedrooms with our future family members! Andy’s parents live on a lot connected to ours of 2 5-acres We have several trails and paths through the woods connecting our homes We enjoy walking our dogs through the woods daily
The schools in this area are well respected Andy attended these schools from Elementary to High School and received a College-Level education. One of the best things about the area is that we are in a rural zone but are only 45 minutes away from Seattle. This means we have the natural beauty and privacy of a rural setting, but the cultural and educational opportunities of a big city. We really get the best of both worlds here. There is also quite a selection of private schools in our area as well if we decide to go that way for education.
We live on a private road with a few homes and all our neighbors are nice. We are thankful to have good friends and neighbors so close by. Many of these neighbors are still the same residents and families that Andy grew up with, while others are new families with young children. We look forward to connecting more with them when our little ones become mobile. We are so grateful to live in the beautiful place that we do.
Work
Andy grew up in a family hardware business his father started back in 1984 The foundation for starting this company was to offer goods and services that could support our local community Since we live in a rural area, we really get to know our neighbors, local businesses, and the do-ityourselfers on a personal level We are a close-knit community store that supports our local neighbors with kindness, connection and customer service As dad is stepping into retirement and we have chosen to take over the family business we are learning about all the things related to having our own business Andy runs the store and manages the employees We currently have 15 Heidi runs the paperwork side and helps manage inventories and merchandizing at the store We have hopes of building a new store behind the current one and dreams of our children learning about life through our connections with people
