Master in Teaching Evergreen’s Master in Teaching (MiT) program will prepare you to uplift and empower the next generation.

Interested in Becoming a Teacher? Evergreen’s MiT program prepares you to be hired as a teacher in Washington state. Through this 12-month intensive program graduates earn: • A master’s degree in teaching • A WA teaching certificate from an accredited teacher preparation program • An endorsement of your choice based on your background preparation • An English Language Learner endorsement to teach multilingual learners

Combined Degree Program As an Evergreen undergrad, you can also take advantage of our Undergrad/Graduate combined degree pathway. If you have 12 or fewer credits left to graduate by the start of the MiT program, the first 12 credits of MiT can count towards the completion of your undergraduate degree.

Become an Expert in Your Content Area • Fill out the Endorsement Checklist, found on the MiT website, with your required credits • Check in with the MiT Assistant Director for endorsement guidance • Talk to course faculty to determine how this course can meet specific endorsement requirement • Pass the WEST-E or NES test in your content area as a part of your application Evergreen’s program offerings change frequently, so there is no set series of courses that fulfill all endorsement requirements. Understanding the requirements for your endorsement early on and taking critical courses when they are offered is important for a smooth path to the MiT program.
