PRE-ORIENTATION FALL 2026 Welcome to Pre-Orientation 2026! We are excited that you are here!

We are excited to welcome you to campus and support you as you begin your academic journey.

Pre-Orientation is designed to help you build connections, explore your environment, and transition smoothly into our community.

PROGRAM DETAILS CHECK-IN and MOVE-IN Pre-Orientation check-in starts the morning of September 19 • •

On-campus residential students: Receive your move-in time for September 19 and instructions from Residential and Dining Services directly (rad@evergreen.edu).

Off-campus students: Check-in at the Pre-Orientation check-in: College Activities Building (CAB) outside the Greenery between 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Lunch will be served at Noon in the Greenery.

At check-in, you will receive your name tag and supplies for the program! Bring a government issued ID. See “Student ID” below for more information on your Student ID.

PARKING Saturdays & Sundays are free parking days on campus.

Students: You are responsible for your quarterly parking passes.

Parents, Families, & Guests: Park in Lot C after dropping off your student.

MEALS Meals are provided for Pre-Orientation students. All Pre-Orientation students are welcome to join us for meals in the Greenery or other locations noted in the schedule. YOU MUST WEAR YOUR NAMETAG LANYARD to get into the Greenery.

GETTING READY FOR PRE-ORIENTATION STUDENT ID Get ready for Fall 2026 Pre-Orientation and Orientation by setting up your Student ID. •

The deadline to order online is September 10, 2026. o To order visit my.evergreen.edu (Profile > Photo ID) Choose “Pick Up”. o Otherwise, you must get it in person on Sept 23, 1:30 PM–3:30 PM in Evans Hall 1001. For more information, check your Evergreen email.

PACKING LIST Be sure to bring your Orientation swag bag and the supplies you will need to feel prepared and ready to engage in each class session. Here is a list of encouraged items to pack:  Weather-appropriate clothing and footwear for being outside - check the forecast before you arrive to make sure you have what you need for being outside.  Refillable water bottle  Closed-toed shoes that are comfortable for 2-4 miles of walking  Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses  Snacks  Biodiversity o Biodiversity Note: Sturdy shoes or boots. No flip-flops or slides on field trips.

COURSE INFORMATION AND POLICIES ACCESSIBILITY AND ACCOMMODATION We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment for all students. Students with disabilities who need accommodations to support equal access should contact Access Services (evergreen.edu/access).

TRANSPORTATION Pre-Orientation includes off-campus travel. Transportation modes include 12 passenger vans and public buses. Field trips may include 2-4 miles of walking, including public sidewalks and trails. A Biodiversity field trip will also include kayaking.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK Field trips come with increased risk to participants. All Pre-Orientation students must review and sign the Academic Field Trip Waiver Form and Medical History in case of emergency (see your faculty). Please review carefully in advance. There will be paper copies ready for you at check-in, or you can complete the paperwork in advance and bring it with you to check-in.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY NOTICE College staff will be out taking photos and videos of Pre-Orientation events and activities.

These photos and videos may be shared online and in-print for promotional materials. If you do not wish to be the primary subject of the photos and videos, you may request an alternative nametag lanyard that will signal your preference to college staff.

CREDIT POLICY To earn the full 2 credits, faculty will expect attendance at most class sessions and successful completion of the majority of in-class reading, writing, and field activities, with possible additional expectations for specific tracks. If you are likely to miss more than half a day, you should expect difficulty earning full credit.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION Full participation in orientation is required for all Pre-Orientation students.

What to Bring: Always wear your lanyard and name tag. You’ll need them for attendance at required events and for meals at The Greenery.
