THE AGENCY SINGERS: SHAKEN, STIRRED & HARMONIZED

NOVEMBER 29, 2025

EVERGREEN CULTURAL CENTRE - REHEARSAL HALL

ABOUT THE SHOW

The Agency Singers are a powerhouse vocal trio that blends the golden age of jazz, swing, and soul with the pop anthems you love. Their signature harmonies, dazzling stage presence, and charisma make every performance an unforgettable explosion of music, style, and fun.

Seamlessly fusing vintage elegance with modern energy, The Agency Singers take your favorite tunes, dip them in sequins, shake them up with lush harmonies, and serve them on a silver platter of sass. Imagine the sultry sophistication of a speakeasy, the high-energy swing of a 1940s big band, and the irresistible charm of a mid-century nightclub then throw in some unexpected pop bangers, re-imagined with bold, retro flair. Whether crooning a smoky jazz ballad, belting a roaring swing number, or giving a cheeky doo-wop twist to a guilty pleasure, this trio delivers every note with passion, precision, and just the right amount of playful mischief.

But they’re more than just killer vocals and flawless harmonies. From red-carpet elegance to playful, feel-good fun, The Agency Singers prove that glamour never goes out of style (and neither do great songs). So grab a cocktail, dust off your dance moves, and prepare for a night where past and present collide in the most dazzling way possible. Vintage never sounded so good!

JANA BERENGEL

Jana Berengel is the founding member and producer of The Agency Singers, where she brings a signature mix of vintage charm, powerhouse vocals, and just the right amount of cheek to life.

A proud Vancouverite, Jana has racked up an enviable list of credits. She’s performed backup for Michael Bublé danced with Carmen Electra, and shared the screen with Amanda Seyfried. She’s performed alongside Queen Latifah, and once danced backup for Weird “Al” Yankovic, which, in case you’re wondering, is as iconic as it sounds. Most recently, she played the saucy housewife Ruth in the Paramount+ series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.

Jana’s talents don’t stop at the stage and screen, she’s also made waves on the airwaves. Performing under the moniker janajana, she dove into the music industry and made quite the splash. Her debut single, Revel in Love, soared to #1 on Billboard-charting station C89.5fm in Seattle, WA, while her follow-up, Heart of Glass (La Da Dee), hit #2 on the same chart and found its way into Abercrombie & Fitch stores across America (yes, that means moody teens shopped for distressed denim to the sound of her voice).

Her musical journey has spanned continents and oceans, from launching clubs in Shenzhen, China, lighting up the stage at Tokyo Disneyland, and performing aboard Cruise Ships, to touring with the Canadian Military Concert Show Tour for troops in Dubai, Israel, Egypt, and Afghanistan, proving sequins really are a global language.

What many don’t realize is that as a teenager, Jana was diagnosed with Otosclerosis, a condition causing progressive hearing loss. Despite the challenge, she rocks CIC (completely-incanal) hearing aids in both ears and continues to belt out tunes like she’s got a whole orchestra in her soul. A proud advocate for The Hearing Foundation of Canada, Jana’s journey is a testament to the fact that resilience is the ultimate headliner. After all, no diagnosis can dim your light, when you’re born to shine.

ALEX KRAUBNER

Alex Kraubner began her singing career at the tender age of seven, because waiting until eight would’ve just been lazy. Hailing from Winnipeg, she’s been serenading audiences, jazzing up stages, and living her best musical life ever since.

She’s been Agnetha in Canada’s leading ABBA tribute band “Supertrouper”, where she proved that sequins are a lifestyle, not a phase. She slipped into a Pink Lady jacket as Marty in Rainbow Stage’s Grease, crooned her way through Take 5 and the U of M Vocal Ease jazz choir, and moonlighted as a featured soloist for Beauty and the Beat, Lusch, and the Canadian Forces Naval Jazz Band (yes, that’s a thing, and yes, she crushed it).

She also portrayed Tabitha in Bewitched at Celebrations, because of course she did. And when she’s not dazzling on stage, she’s molding young musical minds through the globally acclaimed Music Together program proving that the next generation of singers are in very good hands.

Now one-third of The Agency Singers, Alex brings silky vocals, quick wit, and the kind of energy that makes you wonder if she’s been sipping espresso or just naturally runs at 110%. Either way she’s fabulous, and your ears are about to thank you.

Whether she’s stacking tight harmonies or slipping into character, Alex brings powerhouse vocals, stage savvy, and just the right amount of sparkle to The Agency Singers.

KHARYTIA BALISH

Kharytia Balish (pron. Ha-Rit-Ya) was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, also known as the city of festivals, hockey, and one very determined theatre kid. She’s been singing, dancing, and acting since basically forever, with her first iconic role as the Corn Kid in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat alongside Donny Osmond. Yes, that Donny Osmond.

Since then, Kharytia has been a human triple threat, lighting up stages across the country. She starred as Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie at Randolph College for the Performing Arts, brought brains and ballads to Belle in Beauty and the Beast at The Citadel and Theatre Calgary, and grooved her way through Peace, Love, Rock n’ Roll and And the Beat Goes On at Mayfield Theatre. She’s also proud of her Ukrainian roots and has performed extensively within the community, often with more sparkles than strictly necessary.

Offstage, Kharytia moonlights as a Zumba instructor and teaches voice at Clear Lake Fiddle Camp, where she helps the next generation of singers find their sound, their confidence, and occasionally their lost water bottles.

Now a proud member of The Agency Singers, Kharytia is thrilled to be harmonizing, high-belting, and glittering with a crew that feels like home. She’s beyond grateful to share the stage with this group because, let’s be honest, life’s just better with good tunes, great people, and the occasional jazz hand.

BILL COSTIN | PIANO

Bill Costin has been taming the piano since the age of five. Trained in both classical and jazz, he’s a musical chameleon whose career has taken him from Florida to the Yukon, with pit stops on cruise ships, in theatres, cabarets, saloons, and probably one or two questionable after parties.

Based in Vancouver, Bill wears many hats: pianist, musical director, composer, arranger, and audition whisperer. He’s played everywhere from Broadway-bound audition rooms to intimate house concerts, concert halls to corporate soirées, and somehow still manages to make time for coaching the next generation of vocal stars.

His performance résumé includes Beverley Elliott’s awardwinning one-woman show Sink or Swim in New York City, work with legendary names like Michael Bublé, Jim Byrnes, Dal Richards, Ann Mortifee, and Miriam Margolyes, and accompaniment gigs for major productions including The Book of Mormon (NYC, London & touring casts).

If that wasn’t enough, Bill has composed for CBC, arranged for orchestras and musical theatre, and yes, that was totally him playing Elvis Presley’s pianist on Legends of Tomorrow. He’s also appeared in Titanic (1996), Goldrush, and Dead Man’s Gun.

Now, he’s the fourth (and most well-behaved) agent in The Agency Singers, delivering classified-level accompaniment with ten fingers, zero fear, and enough talent to make a grand piano blush.
