ABOUT THE SHOW

Welcome back to our Rehearsal Hall for an exciting evening of classical Indian dance!

We are delighted to welcome dancers Ishwarya Anand and Amulya Keshoju to bring the rythyms and beats of India alive through two traditional styles of dance. We hope you enjoy exploring some of the rich history and meaning behind these stunning performances.

THE ARTISTS

AMULYA KESHOJU | Amulya Keshoju is a Kuchipudi dance artist based in Vancouver, Canada, with roots in Hyderabad, India. Trained by her mentor and mother, Smt. Karuna Sree, at Sri Purvi Nrityalayam, has dedicated over 20 years to mastering the art of Kuchipudi and holds a certification and diploma from Telugu University. Since moving to Canada, Amulya has continued to share her passion for dance through performances at esteemed platforms such as New Works, Nova Dance at the Indian Summer Festival by Dance House, and VATA Events. She is also set to perform with Sincarts BC in an upcoming production.

In addition to performing, Amulya teaches Kuchipudi through her organization, “Nritya by Amulya Keshoju”, in collaboration with Sri Purvi Nrityalayam. Her students, based in both the U.S. and Canada, are guided by her deep-rooted knowledge and passion for the art form. With each performance and class, Amulya brings the rich heritage of Kuchipudi to life, blending tradition with contemporary expression to connect with diverse audiences.

ISHWARYA ANAND | Ishwarya Anand began her Bharatanatyam journey at the tender age of 8, immersing herself in the intricate expressions and rhythmic brilliance of this classical art form. Life has constantly evolved around her, but the one unwavering constant has been Bharatanatyam. She has trained extensively in the Bharata Nrtyam style under the legendary Guru Padma Vibhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, a pioneer in reviving Natya Shastra-based dance movements. Ishwarya continues to refine her art under the mentorship of senior disciple Ramya Venkataraman, ensuring that her performances remain deeply rooted in tradition while embracing artistic evolution. A dedicated performer, Ishwarya has graced numerous prestigious stages, captivating audiences with her precision, emotive storytelling, and deep spiritual connection to the art.
