North Alabama Railroad Museum Punkin’ Pickin Extravaganza – Saturday, October 16 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Take the train to the western terminus and pick your own pumpkin (sized perfectly for children to carry) Fall Color Special – Saturday, October 30 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. --and Saturday, November 6 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. There’s nothing like a scenic train trip through the colorful foliage on the Mercury & Chase Railroad – featuring a ten-mile train ride lasting over an hour. Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll Sunday, October 17 at 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. 203 Maple Hill Drive (at California St. and McClung Ave.)
The Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll has become one of the largest living history strolls in one of the oldest cemeteries in America. History comes to life all along the path with more than 75 costumed characters living out Huntsville’s rich history. Sponsored by the Huntsville Pilgrimage Association, the event is free; donations received are designated for repair and preservation of the walls and tombstones of this historic municipal cemetery. The Huntsville Ghost Walk Walking tours every Friday and Saturday in September and October
The Huntsville Ghost Walk begins another chilling season Friday, September 3. Tours begin at Harrison Brothers Hardware Store, at 124 South Side Square at 6 p.m. Choose one of three guided tours through the Twickenham District, the Old Town District or the Downtown District. Roundtop Folk Festival at Burritt on the Mountain Friday, November 5 and Saturday November 6
The Roundtop Folk Festival is where traditional art and music come alive.
