Historic Hatfield College A dedicated service, tailored to your needs Whether you are hosting an international conference, summer school, private dinner party or wedding reception, the experienced staff at Hatfield College will ensure that the facilities and amenities are arranged to suit your particular requirements. Hatfield College’s accommodation consists of 195 single rooms and 67 twin/double rooms. All rooms have a washbasin, and a number of these include full en-suite facilities. Should your event require accommodation for more people, this can be easily arranged in conjunction with neighbouring colleges, all of which are within easy reach of Hatfield College.

Hatfield College, in the very heart of historic and spectacular Durham, offers all the facilities and amenities to make any event an unrivalled experience. Hatfield is an intimate and self-contained collection of eighteenth-century buildings. The wonderful character of the College, the second oldest of Durham’s colleges, is greatly enhanced by its view of historic Durham Cathedral. This world-famous Norman structure, along with the city’s Castle, has the accolade of being a World Heritage Site. A few hundred yards from all the attractions of the city centre, the College benefits from its position on the banks of the River Wear. You can sit and relax in the gardens, or take a stroll along the riverside footpath as it loops around the City peninsula.

As well as the accommodation and facilities listed opposite we can also incorporate other venues in and around Durham University. That means you can enjoy the choice of colleges in Durham as well as the state-of-the-art facilities at the modern purpose-built campus in Stockton-on-Tees. So whatever type of event you are holding, you will find the range of options and choices available through Hatfield College to be perfect for any occasion.
Dining is an essential feature of an event and the College is able to provide the highest quality food and drink in a stylish setting. The early Georgian dining hall is ideal for a large, formal banquet or you may want to hold an intimate dinner party for up to 22 people in our elegant private dining room. There is also a newly refurbished and wellstocked bar in the College grounds. The College’s catering service is dedicated to offering you flexibility and choice; all aspects of the menu can be designed according to your specific requirements.
