Doors
There are many door style options available with our Inset cabinetry. The door options for inset are limited to mortise and tenon construction. Mitered doors and slab, solid-wood doors are not available. Inset doors and drawer fronts have a back bevel edge to ensure sufficient door clearance. See your authorized Brighton dealer for more specific information concerning available door styles.

With inset cabinets, you can personalize the design with either beaded or non-beaded frames to create your own look and complement your home’s decor. The beaded inset construction defines the cabinet door and drawer openings with an inner edge detail around the frame.
The framing of our inset cabinets is built using 1-1/2” wide solid wood. The exception to this is the top frame rail of wall and tall cabinets. Those top rails measure 2-1/2” as Brighton’s standard. This extra inch allows for a space at the top of the cabinetry to install crown molding and leaves equal framing visible for a more balanced look.
Inset cabinetry is offered with two different hinge styles. One style is the pin hinge with a small barrel section that has decorative finials on each end. This part of the hinge is visible when the doors are shut and multiple finishes are available. Designers will choose this hinge for its authentic and beautiful look.
The second type of hinge on flush inset cabinetry is a concealed hinge. The advantage of this hinge is that it is self-closing which means no magnetic catches. The doors are easier to fine-tune if needed due to this hinge’s 6-way adjustments. Our concealed hinge also includes a soft, cushion close feature that reduces the “thud” sound typically heard when the door closes. Designers choose the concealed hinge when they want the cabinetry to have cleaner lines to suit the design.
