PARENTS of young children who attended the Mont 21 School in Marbella were amazed to discover through a Facebook post on Tuesday August 15 that the school was closing down.

The post stated “It is with deep sadness that we have today had to announce the temporary closure of our wonderful school due to the loss of our premises.

“We are devastated that the children will be unable to continue at their school in September.

“We wish to thank all our families and staff team for their help and support dur ing this difficult time and look forward to our planned return in early 2024.”

It was known that the private school which opened in 2009 and was a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain expected to move to new green location sometime in 2024 where it would accept children aged from 16 months to 18 years.

What was neither known nor expected was that there would be a sudden closure just a few weeks before the new term starts in September, leaving so many children apparently without a place in any school.
