STARS GALA celebrates its 10th anniversary by bringing together the great stars of world ballet at the Teatro Principal in Alicante on Saturday, July 22 at 8pm.

The event, an essential part of the city’s summer programme, will bring together dozens of artists on stage, including great world ballet stars, professional RMB students and live musicians. The gala, produced by the National Association of Professional Ballet, will feature a stellar cast led by Anna Ol, Young Guy Choi, Yolanda Correa, Ricardo Castel ­ lanos, Svetlana Bednenko, Nelson López, Evgeniya V González, and more artists to be confirmed.

They actively encourage integration between British, Spanish and other nationalities. They work with several caring associations and charities to benefit the not so young, frail or infirm to enhance their well­being, environment and enjoyment of life here in Spain.

Age Concern this year celebrates 25 years on the southern Costa Blanca. It goes without saying that the backbone of Age Concern rests safely in the arms of the 90 plus volunteers. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 10.00 ­ 1.30pm.

Help dogs in need

A DOG rescue group will be holding a fundraising lunch and raffle on Wednesday July 26 at 1pm. The event, hosted by Spanish Death Row Dogs, is to be held at restaurant Veintiocho 28 in Hondon de Los Frailes, Alicante. The three course meal includes a drink and is €14, of which €2 will be donated to help rescue dogs.
