Tapas Route prizes Beach delays
THE new mayor of Nijar, Jose Francisco Garrido, has apologised for the lack of management and foresight of the previous socialist government as he blames them for causing delays in launching beach services.
He explained: “ I took on office as mayor on June 17 and have found a bogged down town hall, with uncontracted services which for a tourist town like ours, are fundamental.
“The enormous irresponsibility and lack of work of the previous mayor and her government team is shameful,” he added.
The mayor confirmed that his government were “working tirelessly to solve the colossal inability of the previous PSOE executive.”
Finally, the mayor added: “Despite the disastrous socialist legacy, the Níjar Town Hall is now in good hands, and the people of Níjar can rest assured, that there is now a serious and responsible government team working from dawn to dusk to reverse this situation of neglect and lack of efficiency in municipal management.”
ALMERIA’S Tapas Route which began on May 25 and ended on June 18 involved almost 60 establishments.
Most of the bars and restaurants were in the city but neighbouring towns such as Huercal de Almeria, Roquetas de Mar, Caboneras and Mojacar also joined in the fun.
