IN an exciting turn of events, Marbella is set to become the global capital of padel as the ‘Cervezas Victoria Marbella Master’, the second event on the World Padel Tour 2023 calendar, takes over the city until Sunday, June 4.

The prestigious tournament is being held at the Finca La Caridad in San Pedro Alcántara and will showcase the world’s top padel players. With coverage in 150 countries and an estimated 10 million media and social media interactions, this event is unmissable for sports fans.

Manuel Cardeña, the local councillor for Sports, praised organisers’ efforts in creating an exceptional sporting venue at Finca La Caridad. He also highlighted the value of the opportunity for local athletes to participate, thanks to a collaboration with the World Padel Tour. Padel has become a popular sport in Marbella, a city with strong historical ties to the sport.

José María Arrabal, the Secretary ­ General of Sports in the Andalucian regional government, also emphasised the growing importance of padel in Marbella and encouraged fans, residents, and visitors to spectate.

Marbella is ready to showcase its padel prowess and solidify its position as a top global destination for the highadrenaline sport.

Beads of Hope

ALOHA College, a renowned international school located in Marbella, is set to make waves with its inaugural Charity Gala Ball set to take place on Friday, June 9.

The Beads of Hope Gala aims to raise funds for Aloha College Marbella’s upcoming outreach project in Uganda, scheduled for July. Tickets can be purchased for €125 directly from the school and include a welcome reception, dinner with unlimited drinks, and live entertainment.

A delegation of 30 people from the school community, including teachers and staff members will head to the heart of Uganda as part of the humanitarian project.

Rated as one of Spain’s finest educational institutions by prestigious international publications Forbes and El Mundo, the school is also a generous charity donor. The opulent Westin Hotel, La Quinta, will play host to this grand event.

Funds raised during the gala will go towards impoverished communities in Kampala and the island of Buyiga, during the visit where staff will improve local schools, create libraries and provide essential supplies for local communities.

By instilling a sense of social responsibility in their students, Aloha College Marbella aims to shape compassionate, generous leaders.
