‘Seas’ the opportunity
AS World Oceans Day approaches on Thursday, June 8, the Bioparc Foundation and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) have formed a powerful alliance to promote sustainable fishing and protect marine life.
Bioparc, which has a location in Fuengirola as well as Valencia, and the Aquarium of Gijón, will host educational activities as part of the campaign. The collaboration will offer education for the public about MSC’s blue label and advocate for responsible seafood consumption, highlighting its positive impact on marine biodiversity.
Fernando González Sitges, Director of the Bioparc Foundation, spoke about the importance of this partnership, saying, “This agreement is a great opportunity to collaborate on education and raise awareness about ocean conservation. Working with MSC, an organisation that shares our values and concern for the environment, allows us to promote sustainable practices.”

Ahead of the race, the cyclists and their coaching staff were warmly received at Cartama Sports Centre by themayor, Jorge Gallardo, and the sports coordinator, Rosa González in a reception on Tuesday, May 30. The officials shared their best wishes with the competitors.
The race consists of five stages, taking cyclists on a scenic but gruelling course from Alcala la Real in Jaen to Castellar de la Frontera in Cadiz, with exciting routes across the provinces of Granada and Malaga.
IN an adrenalinefuelled race that pushed athletes to their limits, Benalmadena’s Alpino Mountain Running team claimed victory in the Andalucia Club Mountain Running Championships which took place in Atarfe on Saturday, May 20.
With more than 300 participants, the competition spanned a gruelling 28 kilometres with a challenging 1,800 metres of elevation gain.

Mountain Running Club secured the top position in both the men’s and women’s categories, showcasing the exceptional skill level of their runners.
The men’s race was dominated by Fran Anguita from Club Deportivo Olimpo Granada, while Itziar Oteiza from Alpino Benalmadena emerged victorious in the women’s category.
