Focus on nature
IN celebration of World Environment Day, set to take place on Monday, June 5, Marbella City Council has launched the third edition of the ‘Marbella and the Environment’ Photography Contest.
Participants are invited to capture their unique perspective on the city’s natural spaces, resources, landscape, and biodiversity through a single snapshot.
Each entry must consist of a maximum of two unsigned photographs, sized 20x30 centimetres, mounted on A3 black card.
Additionally, participants must provide a digital copy on a USB drive or by email to activities. medioambiente@marbel la.es.
The photographs, which must be original and previously unpublished, will go on display in an exhibition at the Real de la Misericordia Hospital from the afternoon of Monday, May 29 until Monday, June 12, between 9am 2pm and 4pm8pm each day.
Participants must submit their entries, along with the registration form, to the Municipal Department of Environment located in the Virgen del Carmen Marina control building before 2pm on Monday, May 29.
This exciting initiative also offers incredible prizes of hotel stays and two dinners each for the winning three submissions, courtesy of event sponsors.
Spain’s scooter sensations
MARBELLA’S excellent sports facilities have proved their credentials once again as the Spanish national scooter team announced their decision to train in the city’s newlyrenovated Cristo de los Molinos Skatepark, located in Belo Horizonte.
The national sport team announced their decision to train in Marbella on Monday, May 22, describing it as a great location to prepare for the upcoming Scooter World Championships set to be held in Madrid in June.
The stateoftheart skatepark facility caught the attention of the national team thanks to its excellent features for preparation for highlevel competition.
Led by national selector Karim Ismail and National Committee Coordinator Jesús Caravaca, the Spanish delegation, including top athletes including Alex González, Alex Pérez, Harriet Portugal, Hugo Llopart, and Guifré Obradors, descended upon Marbella to begin their rigorous training programme.
Covering an impressive area of 600 metres squared, the skatepark will also serve as the official venue for this year’s Spanish National Scooter Championship. It boasts a variety of ramps catering to different skill levels, as well as a spectator area with wooden benches that blend into the surrounding pine forest.
