The third season which offers daily cover as per 2022 and runs from mid­June to the end of September will now include an extension to provide for two extra beaches in the capital with permanent posts.

Triathalon Champ

NINETY­TWO participants joined in the brutal 11th MD Cabo de Gata ­ Níjar Triathlon on May 21. Out of the 92 who took part, four were disqualified and three did not finish the race Ramon Ejeda Medina from Madrid completed the race in a time of four hours, 10 minutes and 23 seconds and has now added his name to the list of winners.

The Cabo de Gata Triathlon is a middle­distance race that runs through a privileged natural environment where participants swim for 1,900 metres in the crystal clear waters of the Cabo de Gata maritime park.

The swim is followed by an 80­kilometre bike ride that crosses the mountain range of volcanic origin.

Finally on foot for a further 21 kilometres participants of the race enjoy the wonderful scenery of the beaches of San Jose, Los Genoveses and Monsul.

VERA is proud to confirm that it will host the MAPFRE Spanish Beach Tennis Championships for the sixth year. This competition is the most important in the national calendar of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) in this modality of beach tennis.

The highlight of the competition, the Absolute Category, will be held between May 26 and May 28. The individual category will take place on Friday, May 26, and the doubles category will take place over the weekend, with the finals being at noon on Sunday, May 28.

The tournament is expected to have a large participation. Around 160 of the best players on the national scene will come to play for the title of Champion of Spain from practically all the communities.
