Growth from grief
RENOWNED Marbellabased psychologist and youth educator, Macarena Requena, has developed a remarkable tool to address the sensitive topic of losing a loved one. Her children’s book, ‘The Mushroom Forest’, aims to educate children and their families about coping with loss.
After launching the book at an event on Friday, May 12, Macarena’s book, which is written in Spanish, has now hit shelves across the region. During the launch event, Macarena Requena captivated her audience by reading sections of her beautifully written literary piece.
Anyone who has experienced the grieving process knows how challenging it can be to navigate its complexities. Requena, an expert in childhood and adolescent education, acknowledges the flood of emotions that often accompany loss.
She highlights the addition al concern and fear parents themselves face when attempting to guide their children through such a difficult time. “Grief is painful, and in the face of loss, it is crucial to provide space for understanding what has happened and then begin to heal. My heartfelt hope is that this story can assist you during this journey,” Requena explained.
The book is a useful tool for schools and counsellors working with children.
