THE Region of Murcia will now have another 600 places in a new campsite that will open next summer on the stretch of coastline between Calnegre in Lorca and Percheles in Cañada de Gallego in Mazarron.

The project, which has taken almost 10 years to get the go ­ ahead, will cover about 34 metres squared is underway and they plan to open the first phase before next August. It will include 210 plots with a capacity of 630 people. The promoters have also announced they plan to extend this plot in the future.

This new campsite will be open all year round once completed and will have a swimming pool and a sports facilities.

Aguilas beach additions

THE beaches in Aguilas are getting spruced up in preparation for the summer months. Temporary installations of pedal footbaths, wooden walkways, and new footbridges will be placed at certain points to improve accessibility to the bathrooms and other facilities.

New prefabricated portable toilets will be installed on Poniente Beach and La Colonia Beach each with three individual cabins.

This work is part of the town council ‘Sustainable Aguilas’ project which has a total budget of €6.2 million received from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

Flamini exited from a cave in the coastal town of Motril in the province of Granada on Friday morning, April 14. She had completed a ‘Timecave’ marathon 500­day stay living alone, some 70 metres underground. In the process, this amazing woman also set a new world record.
