Leisure plans ACCORDING to Motril Council, officials approved plans for a leisure centre and commercial area. The plans, which will see a plot of land used for the new leisure centre, will also see a commercial and cultural area, as well as restaurants. The council said: “There are companies interested in developing a plan that has been talked about for 20 years.”

Promoting Marina Del Este DANIEL BARBERO, the head of the Municipal Tourist Board of Almuñecar, has unveiled their promotion of the Marina del Este marina complex, with the slogan, ‘Let’s see each other more.’ Mr Barbaro said, the promotion aims to “give greater diffusion, not only to the facilities and services of the port, but of the entire complex that is located around the port area such as restaurants, shops, div‐ ing, accommodation, real estate or leisure, which make the place a unique space on the Costa Tropical.” As well as targeting audiences on social media, there is a large billboard at the entrance to La Herradura, which was carried out by a local company ‘CK’, which features a photograph of the marina complex.

Cueva De La Victoria ANTONIO JOSÉ MARTÍN, the minister for Tourism and Cueva del Tesoro has announced that the Cueva de la Victoria, will open to the public in a maximum of three months time, under the control of Ardalestur, the company that won the public tender organised by Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, to manage visits to the cave for the next five years.

Library offers NERJA Council has received 63 offers over its plans for a new library to be located on the Balcon de Europa. Nerja Council, Mayor Jose Alberto Armijo said the offers presented in the tender for the municipal library confirm the interest in it. Councillor for Urbanism, Nieves Atencia, said the information had been published and all offers will be looked at.

Sierra Nevada Fines IT has been reported that during the 2020/21 ski season in the Sierra Nevada, Granada, between December 18 and April 18, a total of 1,580 fines have been handed out by officers from the police security operation, for various infringements. The specialised Ski Centre of the Police Unit, runs this operation every season to ensure safety.

TOURISM: A roadmap is being prepared on how to manage when restrictions are lifted. T H E Junta de Andalucia is preparing the transition into normality for when the State of Alarm ends on May 9. A roadmap is being prepared on how to manage the health crises when restrictions are lifted by the central government. Elías Bendodo, the Minister of the Presidency said “We are taking steps in this transition agreed with all the affected economic sectors. “It will be Public Health who will decide to what extent these limitations or openings occur,” he stressed.

In his appearance after the Governing Council, Bendodo indicated that the transition into normality will involve establishing “safe tourist corridors” to promote tourism and specific measures for people that have been immunised. The Minister of the Presidency has also indicated that the vaccination record will be broken with 600,000 doses and has highlighted the intention of the plan to vaccinate one million people a week: “That is the goal we set ourselves now: Andalucia is preparing to vaccinate

a million people a week,” he said. Also reported is how the regions are planning on returning to normality when the State of Alarm ends. The Andalucian government is planning a meeting with the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Andalucia to propose measures they can adopt after May 9. Current restrictions include a curfew between 11pm and 6am, meetings limited to a maximum of six people and perimeter closures of several municipalities.
