AS we slowly progress through the de-escalation phases towards a new normality, we learn to be thankful for what we have currently, under the ‘new now,’ a slight return to our old lives albeit under strict safety regulations. The sun is now shining down on us after weeks of unpredictable weather. With a majority of the country now in Phase 1, we have learnt to appreciate the things we used to take for granted. Phase 1 allows us to go and visit friends and family in their homes, to give them a hug and tell them how much they mean to us in person after months of video calls.

We have come a long way as a society to jeopardise our newfound freedom, and more importantly, the safety of those around us. Enjoy the new now, but be responsible. Turn off the Netflix and take a stroll outside, appreciate those around you and how far we have all come in this unprecedented journey. Most importantly stay safe.
