VELEZ-MALAGA’S town hall has approved the employment of 76 new civil service workers, 23 of which will be internal promotions, 53 will be external employment, with 23 sports monitors and 11 Local Police force members. According to the town hall, this is a measure they have been waiting to implement for a long time which should be approved as soon as possible so that “any vacant jobs can be replaced and so that things can slowly return to normal in all of those areas to ensure efficient and high quality municipal services,” Antonio Moreno, the mayor, affirms.

In total there are 76 new jobs; 23 are for internal promotions, 53 are external hires. Internal promotions included a total of 19 administrative based roles across a variety of departments, alongside three promotions within the Local Police and one for a gardener. Fire Frenzy

ALMUEÑECAR firefighters put out a fire in the wilderness, at the Barranco ‘Los Negros’ close to the River La Herradura. Approximately two hectares of scrubland area have been engulfed by flames during a fire that took place on the afternoon of March 16. The damage occurred in an area commonly known as Barranco Los Negros near the Rio Jate in La Herradura. The origin of the fire remains under investigation although typical branch burnings are not out of the question. Firefighters spent more than three hours trying to

three other firefighters. The Guardia Civil of Almueñecar was also present at the fire.
