BRAVE SHOP OWNER AN attempted robbery occurred this Monday at a greengrocer's shop on Calle Travesía del Río in Velez-Malaga. Two hooded individuals allegedly entered the establishment and demanded the money from the cash drawer. H o w e v e r, t h e o w n e r, a 52-year-old woman, stood up for herself and threatened them with a knife that she uses to cut the fruit, and after seeing this the would-be robbers fled. “I have been through a bad time, but now I am well,” said the woman who has asked for help from local residents to try to find the perpetrators, who, despite being hooded “looked like young boys.” A witness to the attempted crime stated that the robbers were carr ying at least one knife, although that could not be confirmed by their victim: “They did not threaten me with it,” she said.
