A TORNADO hit Port A d r i a n o o n Tu e s d a y afternoon as a twisting element of the storms that battered the island. Facebook was abuzz with photos and videos of the phenomenon spinning just off the coast with tailwinds felt with full force on the shore. Residents of the island reported smaller tornadoes off the coast of Cala Major where water was picked up and sprayed all along the main road and in Palmanova sun beds and parasols on the beach were picked up and sent flying metres away. One Facebook user, Shyvone Mhari Blom posted ‘Just saw a mini tornado on Palma Nova beach!!!!!
