Two sex attacks ABANDONED: Local Police rescued two babies from a car at the El Ingenio shopping centre. SECURITY GUARDS at the El Ingenio shopping centre in Velez-Malaga rescued two 18month-old children from a locked car left in the hot sun whilst the mother was shopping inside. The events occurred at around 2pm on Tuesday (August 27) when shoppers passing the vehicle noticed the cries of the children inside, still in their travel chairs and with only a few centimetres of window open. According to local reports, security guards first attended the scene who then notified the Local Police who removed the
children from the car. Minutes after removing the children, an eight-year-old boy approached the officers and explained he was the children’s brother. He led them to the mother who was inside the shopping centre buying clothes with their elder sister. It emerged that the family were of German nationality and that they were on holiday in the area for a few days. The mother of the children was arrested for the alleged crime of abandonment of minors at risk to their lives.
Graffiti artist caught red handed RAPID police intervention, citizen cooperation and the installation of new security cameras at the La Casa Fuerte Bezmiliana, Rincon de la Victoria has led to the arrest of a teenager believed to be responsible for vandalising the building with graffiti.
Security cameras picked up the 19-year-old spray painting his tag on the north wall of the building at around midnight on Tuesday. Security staff contacted the Local Police who were quickly on the scene to assess the images and video footage.
Using the visual of the culprit, they apprehended the individual shortly after on the Avenida del Mediterráneo. He was found to have spray cans in his backpack and upon interview, was reportedly the perpetrator of a similar act of graffiti last year in the town.
THE National Police have arrested a 43-year-old man in Velez-Malaga in connection with two alleged sexual attacks on women in the space of four days. According to the police report, the man followed his victims whilst walking his dog, and after apprehending them went on to assault them whilst pleasuring himself. The first incident occurred on August 8 at around 11.30pm. A young woman walking in the Carmelites area was approached by the alleged aggressor who grabbed her and dragged her off the path by her arms, whilst licking her neck and masturbating.
The second incident occurred four days later on August 12 under similar circumstances in Calle Real de la Villa. The victim, 17 years old, was apprehended at around 10.30pm by the man who again grabbed and assault her whilst masturbating. Both occurrences were interrupted by passers-by, causing the attacker to flee.
A police investigation into the incidents led officers to arrest the man due to the similarities of both crimes and the fact he was walking his German Shepherd at the time of both attacks. The man, of Spanish nationality, is currently in the custody of the Court of Instruction Number Five of Velez-Malaga.
