Trek for cancer A DOCTOR aged 59 from Mallorca is due to begin a 110kilometre walk across the island’s Serra de Tramuntana on Thursday April 11, to help raise money for cancer research. Magdalea Socias Moya is walking across the mountain range to raise €20,000 for the Biomedical Research Institute of Barcelona’s Metastasis Challenge (Repte Metastasi). Her journey is due to take four days. The Metastasis Challenge was launched to raise money for research into how cancer spreads to different parts of the body. Researchers at the Biomedical Institute hope it will lead to better treatment for patients. Dr Socias Moya said money raised for the cause would be the ‘best investment’ for cancer patients and their families. She decided to undertake the jour-
