It comes after the Association for Environmental Education and the Consumer (ADEAC) handed the coveted award to 590 sandy strips across the country. The Blue Flag is given to beaches meeting high standards of hygiene, sanitary conditions, safety, and accessibility. And Spain’s total has increased by 11 this year, with the sun-drenched hotspot having topped the world ranking since the awards began in 1987.
