Wife held in fraud raid THE wife of a former Ukrainian government minister has been held in Marbella. It comes as the Guardia Civil probe an alleged multi-million Euro money-laundering scheme in which her husband, Serhiy Tulub, allegedly a personal friend of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, is also implicated.

By Matt Ford Marbella Council has insisted that disgraced former councillor Carlos Fernandez is extradited to Spain. A city hall official said that Fernandez “cannot be allowed to flaunt the rules of law in such a basic fashion,” adding that it is “an obligation of our country to get this person here to explain what happened.” The demand comes after t h e 4 9 - y e a r- o l d w a s h e l d in Rivadavia, San Juan Province, Argentina, after an 11-year manhunt. He went on the run in June 2006 after Spanish police swooped on his home when he became implicated in the still-ongoing ‘Malaya’ municipal corruption scandal. A day later his lawyer issued a letter stating that he was walking the Way of Saint James in Galicia and would cooperate fully, but he has not been seen since.
