Bumper investment for Mijas

€200m bonanza Mijas is set to enjoy a €200 million property bonanza over the next 10 years. The first €10 million development is already underway in the municipality, which embraces Mijas Pueblo and several resort areas on Mijas Costa. The area is home to more than 11,000 expatriates. Announcing the €200 million bonanza, Mayor Juan Carlos Maldonado said the major local boost to residential tourism has highlighted “the security that our locality generates for international companies.” La Cala de Mijas is set to be among the main beneficiaries of the funds, with more than 600 houses and apartments planned within the next 10 years in a joint project between British construction firm Taylor Wimpey and Irish chain FBD Hotels and Resorts. Probe death parents plead THE parents of toddler Lucia Vivar - found dead four kilometres from where she disappeared while playing - want her death further investigated.
