London is calling By Matt Ford & Matthew Elliot Even the doom and gloom over Brexit couldn’t take the shine off a fantastic showing from both the Costa del Sol and Marbella at the World Travel Market (WTM) megaevent in London this week. The Junta de Andalucia’s tourist board splashed out on two massive video displays being broadcast daily on giant screens in Piccadilly Circus and Camden Town until December 18. Marbella’s stand was spruced up with a clutch of current and ex-Premier League football superstars, including Luke Chambers, Dean Austin, and Alan Hutton, with referee Mark Clattenburg and agent Rob Segal adding to the snazzy exhibition. City Mayor Jose Bernal said that associating the name of Marbella with elite
sport was worth its weight in gold, while the Costa del Sol’s tourism chief Elias Bendodo waxed lyrical about a new promotion campaign in Scotland and plans to get both Rangers and Celtic over to train.
