A HEROIC group of Local Police officers from Velez-Malaga have managed to make a little local boy’s dream a reality and bring some much needed sunshine to Axarquia. Nine-year-old Mario has suffered from severe celebral palsy throughout his young life, but thanks to a generous €700 donation that the good-hearted officers won as a lottery prize, Mario’s family are now able to finance the first stages of his much-needed treatment. There is an open page on Facebook that gives the details of Mario’s case. As the site indicates, “Mario was born prematurely and with fetal distress, so when he turned one-yearold, he already had the cerebral palsy diagnosis.” The page goes on to explain the financial difficulties that Mario’s parents face as the result of the expensive treatments their son often needs. The officers originally found out about the situation by means of Mario’s website, as well as a fundraising padel tournament that was held in Mario’s honour. “The paralysis affects his legs and he can’t walk. Since he was little he has suffered a
