THE number of crimes in Malaga Province fell by 11.3 per cent in the first three months of this year compared to the same period in 2013. According to a crime report published by the Interior Ministry, the number of crimes reported between January and March this year dropped to 18,500. For the second time running, the number of burglaries has fallen. For the first three months of this year it is the crime which has decreased the most, by 23.7 per cent to 1,028 cases. Car theft has also fallen by 8.6 per cent but continues to be one of the most frequent crimes in the province, along with drug trafficking, which for the second time running is on the rise, by 18.2 per cent, and theft, with 6,518 cases in total.
