Malaga Airport is flying even higher THE good news for the region’s tourism trade is that Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport will be offering 5 per cent more seats on flights this summer. According to the manager of the airport, companies operating there will be offering more than 11.5 million seats between March 30 and October 26. Almost 4 per cent more flights than last summer are expected, bringing the total up to 67,518. That is

seen as a sign that the recovery in the tourism industry will continue to strengthen in the coming months. Since May last year,

figures have been improving at the airport, where more than 85 per cent of the total air traffic is made up of international flights. Most of them are

connections with Europe, which throughout the summer will account for almost 10 million seats, 5.3 per cent more than last summer. The leading destinations continue to be in the UK, and figures continue to rise, with 4.5 per cent more seats, 1.5 per cent more flights and 34 per cent more passengers.
