EIGHT companies will compete for the contract to install video surveillance in strategic parts of Marbella. A total of nine bids were received by the council’s Contracting Committee this month, but one was excluded for not meeting the deadline. The contract will be worth €1.5 million to the winning company, with a timescale of five months to complete the works. As it is part of the budget’s Financially Sustainable Investments programme, it must be completed by the end of this year. Local and National Police have recorded a high volume of crimes in these areas (eg damages, thefts, and assaults) in recent years, and so the project will be popular with businesses and residents alike.
