Roof Safety Assessments

Understand your risks, improve compliance and plan maintenance safely

Why conduct a Roof Safety Assessment?

• Demonstrates a proactive approach to compliance & contractor control

• Reduces exposure to claims, enforcement action and business disruption

• Improves planning for maintenance, budgeting and remedial works

• Clarifies PPE, permit, training and access requirements for roof tasks.

• Helps protect employees, contractors and visitors from avoidable harm

• Records PPM assets and their locations at roof level

We survey each roof area & how and if safe access can be undertaken

ASSET REGISTER

We identify and collate existing access equipment, height safety assets & current status, along with detailing items that require regular PPM

ROOF PLAN

A plan of each roof area detailing items identified in the asset register. We then use a RAG system to colour code each roof area to indicate the current level of fall protection

REPORT & RECOMMENDATIONS

You will receive a detailed report compiling our findings, which will include:

• Recommendations on how roof safety could be potentially improved.

• Drawings for all current roof areas that are colour-coded to indicate the current level of fall protection

• Drawings for suggested improvements, from which an action plan can be created to prioritise works using a proposed revised RAG system.

The risks of doing nothing

Hidden risks remain unknown: Unsafe access routes and maintenance hazards may go unidentified. Increased liability: Contractors may work without sufficient information or controls.

Proof of compliance: Duty holders may struggle to demonstrate that roof work has been appropriately planned and controlled.
