NETWORKING PLATFORM TURNS 15

PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE is celebrating its 15th anniversary of bringing up-and-coming producers together for networking opportunities and promoting them widely in Cannes. Since 2000, EFP and its members have selected more than 300 producers from 35 European countries and helped support their cross-border cooperation on future projects. Many of them are still in contact with one another and several have become partners on international coproductions, seeing their films premiering at international film festivals around the globe.

Congratulations to all of them.

This year, the members of EFP have again made their selection and chosen 24 aspiring and highly promising producers for the initiative during the Festival de Cannes 2014 and the Marché du Film.

The programme will take place at the beginning of the festival from May 17 to 19. EFP will once more be creating a highly focused working environment including project pitching, oneto-one meetings, a case study, and social events as well as extensive promotion of the producers through profiles in the international trade papers.

We would like to express our warmest thanks to the MEDIA Programme (2007 – 2013) of the European Union for its on-going financial support of this initiative. We would also like to thank Eurimages for its continuing support.

Keep an eye on this talented group of producers.

Writer-director / producer Maya Vitkova worked until 2006 as an assistant and casting director. In 2009, she executive produced Kamen Kalev’s Eastern Plays which premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight and was Bulgaria’s Oscar candidate in 2011.

At the beginning of 2009, Maya founded Viktoria Films, producing two shorts and her debut feature Viktoria which had its world premiere at Sundance in January 2014. She is now developing her second feature, the road movie Gin Air, which will be partly shot in Brazil.

A graduate from the Academy of Drama Art in Zagreb, Vanja Jambrović has been working exclusively as a producer at the company Restart since 2009. She has produced several shorts, including Boxed and Real Man’s Film, before handling Nebojša Slijepčević’s 2013 CroatianGerman-Romanian documentary Gangster Of Love. Vanja also served as an associate producer on the Slovenian-Macedonian-Croatian co-production Mama Europa by Petra Seliškar and is currently in development on the feature fiction Araf – The Elevations by Srđan Keča and the feature documentary Shooting The War by Slijepčević.

Nimbus Film, Denmark

A graduate in Film and Media from the University of Copenhagen, Eva Jakobsen worked at Zentropa from 2004-2007 and joined Nimbus Film in 2008. She produced several shorts and was involved in such films as Valhalla Rising and The Ambassador before producing her first feature film Antboy in 2012.

Eva is currently in production on the DanishGerman co-production Antboy II and developing new projects with such emerging talent as Ask Hasselbalch, Katrin Gebbe, and codirectors Jonas Arnby and Rasmus Birch.

Mark, who finds time to run a barbecue restaurant on the side, is in postproduction on the black comedy Swedish Moment and currently developing the action film White Point, to be directed by Akseli Tuomivaara and shot in winter 2015/6.

After graduating in Business Law, Economy and Finance, Mathias Rubin worked in the acquisitions and co-productions division at Miramax Film. In 1999, he joined Natixis Coficine as an account officer for production and distribution companies.

Four years later, Mathias established his own production company, Récifilms, and has produced films by Éric Rochant, Manuel Poirier and Mona Achache, among others. He is currently developing the fiction project French Doctors about the genesis of Doctors Without Borders.

This year saw the world premiere at the Berlinale’s Panorama of her directorial debut Brides which she also produced. HENNING KAMM

DETAiLFILM, Germany

A graduate of the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris, Henning Kamm founded DETAiLFILM together with Fabian Gasmia in 2007. Their first successes included Supriyo Sen’s short documentary Wagah and David O’Reilly’s The External World. At this year’s Berlinale, the duo had premieres of Karim Ainouz’s Praia do Futuro and Kutlug Ataman’s Kuzu – The Lamb.

Carlo Zoratti’s The Special Need is currently on the festival circuit and won the Audience Award at SXSW. Henning is working on such films as Mohammad Rasoulof’s Mahan and Stéphane Robelin’s #Flora63.

A graduate of the producer class at the University of Theatre and Film in Budapest, Eszter Gyárfás had worked during her studies as a unit/production manager on such films as Taxidermia and Delta.

In 2011, she started working at Proton Cinema and made her debut as a producer with Land Of Storms by Ádám Császi in 2014. Eszter then served as executive producer on Kornél Mundruczó’s sixth feature, White God, which has its world premiere in Un Certain Regard in Cannes this year. A graduate in Ethnology, Ognen Antov set up his company Dream Factory Macedonia to produce feature films, TV productions and documentaries. Apart from the awardwinning documentaries Seamstresses and Grandmothers Of Revolution, Ognen was an associate producer on Vladimir Blazevski’s Punk Is Not Dead and co-producer of Dimitar Mitovski’s hit Mission London.

David Bijker is a producer for the Amsterdambased Bijker Film & TV which focuses on content for young people and family audiences. He was one of the producers of Dennis Bots’ awardwinning 2012 feature Cool Kids Don’t Cry which has since had a Norwegian remake as Kule Kidz Gråter Ikke.

The collaboration with Dennis Bots and screenwriter Karen van Holst Pellekaan continues with the soon-to-be-released Secrets Of War, and the upcoming productions The Sword Of D’Artagnan and Falko – Letter Of Fire, which are all structured as European co-productions.

A graduate in Marketing and Business Studies, Mikołaj Pokromski also studied at the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris. He joined his parents’ company Pokromski Studio, producing documentaries by Michał Marczak such as At The Edge Of Russia and Fuck For Forest.

Mikołaj has since expanded into feature films as a co-producer of Johannes Schmid’s Winter Daughter and Marie Noëlle’s forthcoming biopic Marie Curie. He is also developing a comedy by Andrzej Kotkowski and documentaries by Maciej Bochniak and Maciej Cuske.

A graduate of Bratislava’s Academy of Performing Arts, Mátyás Prikler made his feature debut as a director with Fine, Thanks, which had its premiere in Rotterdam in 2013.

His company MPhilms produced the omnibus film Slovakia 2.0, which consists of ten short films directed by ten directors across the generations, and Jaro Vojtek’s drama in four episodes, Children. In addition, Mátyás served as a co-producer on Mirage by Hungarian director Szabolcs Hajdu.

Petter Lindblad founded Snowcloud Films in early 2014 to focus on animation films for children and young people. Previous to this, Petter had worked at Copenhagen Bombay as a producer on Anders Morgenthaler’s The Apple & The Worm, Esben Toft Jacobsen’s The Great Bear, and Sweden’s first stereoscopic feature film Beyond Beyond, also by Toft Jacobsen.

He is a co-producer on the international fantasy film The Golden Horse and is now developing Maria Avramova’s 3D animation feature Benny And The Kids with his new company.

European Film Promotion (EFP) is the only existing international network of organisations promoting and marketing European cinema worldwide.

Founded in 1997, the EFP network now comprises 35 professional organisations from 34 European countries, who are experts in promoting and marketing their own national cinema. Under the EFP umbrella, all of these organisations work together on the promotion of European films and talent around the world.

To this end, EFP devises, organises and carries out promotional activities and events on behalf of films, directors, producers, actors and other film professionals.

The aims and objectives of EFP’s activities are
