EFNMS, the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies, was established in 1970. The EFNMS transformed to a formal non-profit organization (“Vereniging zonder Winstoogmerk”) according to Belgian law created on January 18, 2003, in Amsterdam.
Maintenance is of utmost importance for trade and commerce, for the environment, and for general health and safety. In order to pursue its goals, the EFNMS shall be an umbrella organization for the non-profit National Maintenance Societies in Europe.
We are recognised as the leading European network for knowledge and experience in maintenance and physical asset management – That means that EFNMS has competencies in Maintenance but also in Physical Asset Management which includes Design, Configuration, Operation, Continuous Improvement and Disposal.

EFNMS has assigned to A.I.MAN. Italian Maintenance Association the organization of EuroMaintenance 2024. The only Pan-european maintenance conference and trade fair event .
A.I.MAN. is a no-profit scientific/cultural association, founded in 1959, aimed to disseminate and develop the culture and professionalism in the italian Maintenance sector: activity that plays a role of primary importance in industries and services, due to the great impact it has on functionality of the plants, safety at work, the quality and cost of the final product.

On the occasion of EuroMaintenance 2024, awards will be assigned to the best academic works throughout Europe: the Master’s Thesis Award (MTA) and the PhD Thesis Award (PTA). The objective of this award ceremony is to promote, encourage and incentivize theoretical and applied research related to maintenance, helping to develop knowledge and practice among European universities and research institutes students, for a better maintenance of our world. The awards are sponsored and financed by the Salvetti Foundation. The selection process of these awards is divided into several phases. The first, initial, consists of a national competition of proposals. Subsequently, the winners, representing each respective National Maintenance Society, will compete continentally. The candidates will be evaluated by European experts coordinated by the Salvetti Foundation, in order to select the European winners of each award. The European winners of both academic maintenance awards will be announced in June 2024, and will receive their award during EuroMaintenance 2024.
In 2019, on the occasion of the 60th A.I.MAN. foundation anniversary the 1st Italian Maintenance Manager Award was presented, created by A.I.MAN. – Italian Maintenance Association and sponsored by Salvetti Foundation, with the aim to recognize excellent results achieved in the Maintenance Manager role.
