The next annular solar eclipse will occur on Saturday, October 14, 2023. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring), known as the “ring of fire”. In Mexico, the eclipse will pass over the Yucatan Peninsula and Chetumal in Quintana Roo. The longest duration of the “ring of fire” will be of four minutes and 35 seconds.

Arrival in Mexico City. Rest of the day at leisure

DAY 2 Sat. Oct 07 MEXICO CITY Guadalupe & Teotihuacan

Visit the most important Sanctuary in Mexico, the Basilica of Guadalupe and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan with the impressive Sun and Moon Pyramids. Back to the city for a guided tour. (B)

DAY 3 Sunday Oct 08 MEXICO CITY – PUEBLA - OAXACA

Our first stop will be Cholula, with an ancient archaeological and cultural history Continue to Puebla for a guided visit and transfer to Oaxaca. (B) (L)

DAY 4 Monday Oct 09 OAXACA Monte Albán

Visit the city which was founded in the heart of a wide valley at 1500 meters above sea level. In the afternoon we will visit the archaeological zone of Monte Albán, one of the oldest cities in Mesoamerica. (B)

DAY 5 Tuesday Oct 10 OAXACA – SAN CRISTOBAL

Flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez and transfer to the Sumidero Canyon. Then we will take a walk to admire the canyon. Transfer to San Cristobal de las Casas. (B)

DAY 6 Wednesday Oct 11 SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS

City tour in San Cristobal. The day continues to the indigenous Mayan communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán. (B)

DAY 7 Thursday Oct 12 SAN CRISTOBAL - PALENQUE

In the morning we will proceed to the Agua Azul Waterfalls, and later to Palenque. (B)

DAY 8 Friday Oct 13 PALENQUE - CAMPECHE

Visit Palenque, one of the most important cities of the Classic Mayan Period. Transfer to Campeche. (B) (L)

DAY 9 Saturday Oct 14 CAMPECHE Eclipse Experience

ASTRONOMICAL PHENOMENON IN A PRIVATE PLACE

We will experience this annular solar eclipse adventure, reaching a privileged location along the central axis of the eclipse in Campeche, on October 14, 2023 from 09:45 and ending at 13:09 local time. Once the experience is complete, we will return to the bus and to the hotel (B) (L) (D)

DAY 10 Sunday Oct 15 CAMPECHE - MERIDA

Departure to Uxmal one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of pre-Hispanic times. Continue to Merida with a panoramic (B)

DAY 11 Monday Oct 16 MERIDA - CANCUN

Visit Chichen Itza, the most renowned Mayan city in Mexico, Continue to Cancun or Playa del Carmen (B) (L)
