Imagine That! Imagine if your whole community were plunged into complete darkness for weeks with no electricity, no lights, TV, computers, no mobiles! Students at North Arm State School face that dilemma in their forthcoming musical, and if you saw their previous brilliant musical River Tribes, you will not want to miss this one. Every 2yrs, music teacher Bec Summers, writes the script, composes the score, directs the actors and band members, designs the set and costumes, and organises a wonderful crew of colleagues,
parents, grandparents and volunteers to put on an extravagant production highlighting this tiny school’s huge wealth of talent and cooperation. This is reflected in the musical’s message that with respect, understanding the needs of others, working together and thinking creatively humanity can survive in a happy world. Sponsored by Eumundi Rotary, local businesses and private individuals, Imagine That! features almost every child and teacher in this lavish production. GSLC celebrates 40yrs Good Shepherd Lutheran College (GSLC) celebrated its 40th Anniversary on 8 August, as thousands attended their annual Shepherd’s Fair. The event featured rides, stalls, food vans and entertainment, alongside an Anniversary Hub showcasing the college’s history through displays, a Memory Tree and a Wall of Legends. A highlight was the opening of a 20yo time capsule, reconnecting former students with letters to their future selves. Principal Jen Gibb said the day reflected GSLC’s strong sense of community, while the celebrations ended with fireworks after dark.
