Media outlets from both banks of the Nistru river jointly produce and broadcast shows

The shows produced together by the media facilities from both banks of the Nistru river were broadcasted and enjoying coverage in social media since September. The content is produced with the financial support of the European Union, provided through the European Union Programme “Support to Confidence Building Measures”, implemented by the UNDP.

Jurnal TV broadcasted several editions of the “Asfalt de Moldova” show, produced together with Lik TV – an internet-based TV channel from the left bank of the Nistru river. A series of shows cover the localities from both banks of the river that have practically existed a single community over the times. “Tur Retur 2” is a TV travel show produced by Bas TV. The presenter Alina Topal and the blogger Dorin Galben travelled through different districts of Moldova, showcasing the specific traditions of the respective regions, as well as the well-known and less-known touristic sites. “Regionalii cu Mihail Sirkeli” is a talk show broadcasted by TV 8 channel. actually a debate, focused on the most important social topics, hosted by Mihail Sirkeli, and attended by the representatives of governmental and nongovernmental institutions as the invitees. Previously, Diez.md portal has launched the podcast “Sexplicaţii” in Romanian and Russian languages. The show is actually a debate with doctors and experts on different topics related to sexual education of youth and the sexuality. Other shows financed under the media component of the EU Confidence Building Measures Programme, implemented by the UNDP are expected to hit the floor soon. Among these there is a documentary about Dubasari water power plant and another one with scenes shot on both banks of the Nistru river – something that has not been done since 1986. In total, the EU CBM Programme envisaged to provide up to 25 grants for a value up to €60 000 for audio-visual co-productions.

The aim of the Programme is to bring closer the population from both banks of the Nistru river by engaging them in joint development projects.
