DECORATIONS FOR SMALL

S P A C E S Do you love decorating for Christmas but find yourself unable to do so because of your limited space? Here are some creative ways you can still express your holiday cheer.

DWELLINGS DECEMBER 2021

ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS TREE Usually, small spaces simply meant having small Christmas trees. However, why not try using what you already have? You can opt to have a print-out of a tree and decorate your wall and put up lights, or for those with plants, you can also put fairy lights in and around the plant. A Christmas tree doesn't always have to be literally, a tree.

DECORATE YOUR DOOR A great way to welcome your guests is by greeting them the moment they arrive at your place. What better way to greet them and spread Christmas cheer than by decorating your door? It's the first thing that your guests will see. It can be as simple as a wreath, or you can be a bit more creative and decorate the wreath with bells, ribbons, ornaments, etc.

HOLIDAY BASKET Holiday baskets are simply baskets that were designed to look a bit more Christmas-y. It's a great way to decorate your space while being organized. Candies, small gifts, trinkets, or maybe even keys can be kept in the basket. It doesn't take up much space, but it's a great addition to the decor.

CHRISTMAS CEILINGS Maximize your space by literally looking up. Your ceiling is a great location to hang up some decor. You can make it look as if snow or snowflakes are hanging in the air or even shooting star landing in your home. You can also hang Christmas balls and other ornaments or brighten up your space with some fairy lights.

StartNow

Often, people assume that inspiration is something that only comes if they wait long enough. However, it can be argued that inspiration also comes to those who move and do something about it. If the goal is to be an author, then start conceptualizing and writing. Don't dismiss ideas. If the goal is to be a great artist or painter, then begin honing your skills. Figure out your preferred medium, then start from there. Set a specific, attainable amount, then start from there. The key is to just start.

S tCurrently, artS mall people are so used to getting what they need when they

need it. Connectedness made it easy for people to get information about something or someone and communicate and reach out to other people. Tasks can be accomplished instantly. However, because of this, they mistakenly equate instant information and communication for an instant result. Because of this, it can be easy to lose track of the goals.

12

DWELLINGS DECEMBER 2021

It's better to start small and work through it. Those goals are attainable, and progress is easier to take note of.

Wo r k w i t h p e o p l e w i t h t h e same goals and mindset

Being around people with the same mindset can be uplifting, especially when you start working with them. It's easier to be inspired and stay inspired when you spend time with like-minded people. CREATE A REWARD SYSTEM

Sometimes tasks and to-do lists can overwhelm. A great way so that you can look forward to whatever daunting task it is that you have to do is by creating a reward system. This type of system doesn't have to be elaborate. It can simply be a treat like a snack, watching an episode of that Kdrama you're currently on, or simply resting your eyes for a couple of minutes.

SET THE VIBE

Listening to some music can help stimulate the brain as well as help uplift the mood. Music can also help set the atmosphere. Those who tend to be distracted with the lyrics can opt to play some instrumental songs. Music applications like Spotify and Apple Music create playlists depending on their use. They create and update a playlist for working out, studying, productivity, etc. You can check them out and maybe curate a playlist that is tailored-fit to your taste and needs.

TAKE A BREAK

Taking a break is as important as any pending task. Don't forget to make time to take a break. Taking breaks will help the mind stay motivated and inspired. Recharge and be sure to be kind to yourself.

Always remember that it is not always a race. Progress is progress. Some tasks have a deadline, but relax when you can and reset when you can. Overloading oneself with work can be counterproductive. Productivity and creativity are at their peak when the mind is wellrested.

Hospicio de San Jose 26

DWELLINGS DECEMBER 2021

The celebration of the Holiday Season will not be complete without helping those in need that is why for this year, Dwellings by Eton responded to the call for help from Hospicio de San Jose, as the COVID-19 pandemic affected the country’s oldest charitable institution.

Hospicio de San Jose declared a selflockdown since March 2020 and it became stricter in April 2021. However, a second wave has stricken the institution forcing them to sought help. They have recorded a total of 120 COVID-19 cases, which include children and the elderly. In partnership with the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Dwellings by Eton offered a helping hand by donating the much needed food supply particularly rice from Eton’s Masaganang Palayan Project and fresh vegetables harvested from the Dr. Lucio Tan Legacy Forest Project in Nueva Ecija, which also serve as sustainable sources of livelihood for poor farmers and indigenous people in the community served by the foundation.

“We are very glad for the opportunity to respond to the call for support expressed by Hospicio de San Jose, as they continue to sustain the needs of 450 individuals affected by the COVID-19 surge within their compound. This is our small way to shed a light of hope this Christmas to the orphans, elders, staff and admin of the charitable institution. Let this season always remind them of God’s great love for us, especially those neglected by society,” says Maria Noellie T. Dela Rosa, Eton Properties Assistant Vice President for Residential Leasing.
